No - she was a nurse at Ft Bragg. Had a husband who was a Marine and she was divorcing.

Her apartment was found smoldering a few days ago here in Fayetteville. Car in the parking lot and kids safe but she was missing.

Thus far, as I understand it, the charred body id is not confirmed.

My daughter lived in the Morgantown complex for a while, and that's where I stayed when visiting. A lot of military live there; as do civilians. My daughter moved to a location nearby. Her home was broken into in 2004; and all her military gear was stolen, as was all the baby stuff; including opened and in use baby formula. The biggest concern, however, was the stolen military garb and gear.

From bits and pieces of data I'm getting from military acquaintances and pals, I'm seeing an awareness of "something" afoot that the military is in fact aware of. What may seem like "casual" crimes against military men and women, may in fact be something more organized. It's something to be aware of and on alert for, and with time and evidence, proven or disproven.

However, I will say this: Fayetteville has seen more than just a supernormal amounts of crime against military men and women. In fact, it's an abnormal amount of crimes against military.

Fayetteville is run by Democrats. I add this note, and because ime, wherever Democrats run a city, crime is higher than elsewhere. (I lived near Oakland, CA for a long time).

And it used to be the rule that only the Democrats in Fayetteville got to select which civilians worked on post; at the security gates, etc. Retired military informed me about this when I arrived. That despite their high qualifications for positions on post, those positions were given to "friends" of Democrats in Fayetteville. Homeland security changed the "special status" given to Democrats, in the name of "national security" over the past 4 years.

And, there are a number of anti-military working as civilians on post.

My point in bringing this up is to raise awareness. Period. The MSM might consider broadening its scope on coverage who might be in the ring of "suspects". Nation of Islam has a large and active group in Fayetteville. Gang-bangers have a large and active group in Fayetteville. Fayetteville is also a major hub on the illegal immigrant "freedom route", as it is also same for illegal drug "cartels" and their carriers.

Military and those familiar with Fayetteville refer to Fayetteville as Fayette-Nam.

There are many things which are not hitting the news cycle. But indeed, something is afoot.

And it is beyond the usual "barracks brawling" types of occurrences.

Is someone/group trying to promote PTSD theory of all "soldiers" in order to push for U-Health? Is someone trying to undermine our soldiers here at home?

I follow this type of stuff, and the increasing amounts of paranormal crimes against military has my "alert" sensors up and running.

At first I thought, coincidences. Now, I'm watching far more closely.

And by the way, I received a special request: Military oversees in Iraq and Afghanistan cannot find Skoal to purchase.

I've been asked to share with interested others of the request for shipment of chewing chaw to military overseas.

Now I understand, the MSM's prudish concern over US exports of tobacco to Iran.

More and more of the "skoal" which had been available for purchase in Iraq and Afghanistan has suddenly become hard to find.

If you've military loved ones oversees, send them some skoal, please -- to sell or share with pals.

The girl’s father told WRAL the police had informed him that the body was ID’d as his daughter’s.

Yes, I’d read that earlier this morning at WRAL. I’m waiting on a military verification.

From latest:

Sneads Ferry, N.C. — Authorities have charged the Marine husband of a dead Fort Bragg nurse with first-degree arson for setting the couple's apartment on fire.

First report said "police", now it's "authorities". Authorities must mean "police" because the Morgantown complex is civilian turf. Possible, military provided id components?

"First report said "police", now it's "authorities". Authorities must mean "police" because the Morgantown complex is civilian turf."

Although civilian law enforcement would most likely exercise primary jurisdiction, keep in mind that the UCMJ jurisdiction is based on a person's uniformed status, not geographic boundaries. As the husband is a Marine, NCIS would almost certainly be involved in the investigation, regardless of where the crime was committed.

You are right. Thank you.

The use of the word "authorities" then is more correct and proper in the reporting.
