Messianic leaders say Hebrew tablet validates Jesus’ claims

Israeli Jewish believers in Jesus say the recently publicized Hebrew tablet describing the death and resurrection of a messianic figure challenges centuries of teachings by rabbinic Judaism that the redemptive process of Jesus was a departure from biblical Jewish understanding.

The unique stone tablet dubbed “Gabriel’s Revelation” contains 87 partial lines of archaic Hebrew in which the archangel commands a messianic ruler identified as the “Prince of Princes” to rise after having been dead for three days.

According to Knohl, the tablet proves that “what happens in the New Testament was adopted by Jesus and his followers based on an earlier messiah story.”

My name is Simon and I make drawrings.

That was actually my first response to it, though I am not a Messianic. I thought, “Well, yeah, all this stuff Jesus did was prophesied by Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc. Of course these ideas would have existed somewhere in Judaism. I mean, Isaiah 53 explains the cross in intricate detail.”

But that’s just my perspective as a Christian. I am not surprised the Jews see things differently.

This is Messianic PROPHOSY.

The MSM predictably doesn't believe in miracles (unless generated by Barry.)

Actually, he goes by “the Democratic Nominee formerly known as Barrack Hussein.” He has a little symbol and everything.

This idea has been embedded in Judaism for a long time:

“And the land shall mourn” (Zech. 12.12) What is the reason for this? Rabbi Dosa and the rabbis disagree about it. Rabbi Dosa says, “(They will mourn) over the Messiah who will be killed.” And the rabbis say, “(They will mourn) over the Evil Inclination which will be killed. . . “ (Talmud, Sukkah 52a)

“When he created King Messiah, the Holy One. . . began to tell him the nature of his task, and he said to him, “Those who are with you in your generation, their sins are going to force you into a yoke of iron, and they will tear at you like a blind calf. . . and on account of their sins your tongue will stick to the roof of your mouth. Do you agree to this?”
“(And the messiah said). . .I accept it with joy and happiness in my heart, in order that not even a single one of those who will live in my day will die; and not only that those who live in my day will be saved, but also all the dead who have ever died from Adam up until now. . .”
(Pesikta Rabbati)

“Elijah of blessed memory caresses his (the messiah’s) head, holds it on his lap, and says to him, “Accept all these sufferings and the verdict of the Holy One who causes you to suffer for the sins of Israel. And so it was written, “He was wounded for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities’ (Isaiah 53.5)
(Bet HaMidrash 2.29,30; Midrash Konen)

“Why will the devil (Armilus) be given permission to kill Messiah ben Jospeh? It is so that the hearts of those in Israel without faith should break; and so that they will say, ‘This is the one for whom we have hoped, now he has come and he was killed, and there is no longer any redemption for us.’” (Hai Gaon, responsa )

“Messiah our Righteousness is departed from us. . . He has borne the yoke of our iniquities, and our transgression, and was wounded because of our transgression. He bears our sin on his shoulder, that he may find pardon for our sins. We shall be healed by his wound. . .
(Musaf prayer for the Day of Atonement, circa 700 C.E.)

And of course the Afikoman in the Passover seder symoblizes the return of the messiah (”I have come back”) after three days (the third cup of wine)

And so on .

I'm sorry, I misread the headline and didn't read the story.
I am skeptical of inscriptions on “antiquities” and their “meaning.”
