Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Wednesday he is "open-minded" about $8.2 billion in tax increases proposed by Democrats to help resolve a $15.2 billion budget shortfall this year.

The Republican governor said he has "always been against tax increases," but he shied away Wednesday from criticizing the latest Democratic package, which heavily depends on tax hikes on wealthy Californians and businesses.

Has anybody even seen the hole in Arnold’s head to prove that he’s open minded?

Red Arnold is a Republican In Name Only. Now he's set to abandon his pledge not raise taxes. The transformation is complete. He's been a liberal Democrat in practice for a long time now and no one's fooled.

Points and counterpoints on Dems’ tax plans
http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/capitolalertlatest/013768.html

The reactions to the budget stalemate — and the Democrats’ plan to raise revenues through a series of tax hikes — have been pouring in via press releases, events and blogs.
Here’s a sampling:

Karen Bass, the speaker of the Assembly, said, “Californians are telling us don’t decimate education, don’t shred the safety net, don’t close parks and provide health care for kids — don’t close clinics.”

“The straight truth is that takes revenue,” she said.

But California Taxpayers’ Association President Teresa Casazza said, “This is not budget management. This is a recipe for recession. During an economic downturn, the last thing Californians need are more taxes.”

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Wednesday he is “open-minded” about $8.2 billion in tax increases proposed by Democrats to help resolve a $15.2 billion budget shortfall this year.

So the Government spent 15 Billion more then it had and the answer to that is to increase taxes on the people by half that amount?
So the people get screwed today with a tax increase and then will get screwed at a later time with an additional tax increase to recover the other half plus the interest on the debt.

What did our Founder Fathers do when the King of England did this to them way back then.

Bustamante would have already passed legislation on $12 billion in tax increases and would be asking now for another 8 billion because the Dems would have already spent the money.

2006 showed us that too many CA voters can't figure out we have to cut spending in the state or we are going the way of Vallejo.

I thought all that homo wedding money was supposed to bring the state prosperity.

That would have been FairOpinion the pain-in-the-arse RINO lady who used to feed the squirrels in Santa Monica. She was banned however. In fact on this occasion I'm going to send in $25 to the Freepathon in her memory -- thankful that she won't be showing up in this thread to infuriate us all.
