What's the problem? Our enlightened British kin recognize that sharia law can coexist within the structure of our law. Can't it??? ... oh, dear.

Don’t be too sure, my Iranian neighbor beat his wife to death with a bedpost in their backyard. Lady next door saw it happen from her bedroom window and called police. He posted bond and fled to Iran, where he was supposedly a friend of the Shah.

I think we need to understand this man's culture in the context of a society in where it is necessary to preserve the family name and honor rather than see the family shamed.
Sarcasm On. Religion of Peace Alert.

Nothing personal, it's just an honor killing The killing of women to save family honor is fairly common in these societies. Not having been brought up a Muslim, the thought of killing my daughter for wishing to get a divorce is hard to understand. But it does bring to mind the warning that the nice Moslem next door may just kill you for religious reasons or from custom; but it wont be personal.

Any father who would kill his own daughter has no honor. Barnyard swine have more honor and are more trustworthy than these people.

I work with a Muslim couple. Husband and wife. Naturalized citizens, formerly from Iran (prior to Khomeini) They would never even think of something this outrageous. Are you sure? 100% sure?
I'm sure that this guy's co-workers thought exactly the same thing about him.

Yeah, that’ll protect your family honor, all right.
These types of things must not be permitted in the U.S. This is not Pakistan. We have our own laws here. Those that won’t follow those laws should find another place to live.

Guess it’s better to have a murderer in the family
then a married daughter.
Honor, what honor? Murderers, plain and simple.

"The family is very upset and stressed," said Shahid Malik of the Pakistani American Community of Atlanta. Malik told MyFoxAtlanta that he met with the family Sunday and said they were all traumatized.I guess so. Sheesh - their dad killed their sister. I would think "stressed" would be an understatement.

I bet they were even more traumatized when they saw the judge was a woman.

Georgia man? Yeah, right. May be a man (and I use the term loosely considering the charges) that happens to live in Georgia, but certainly not a “Georgia man”.
