I am a strong supporter of Israel, but the attack on the Liberty was clearly premeditated and intentional. Israel was fighting for its life and wanted Washington blind and distracted.

I was not and could not have been accidental

Total agreement. Israel should have been forced to hand over those aviators for questioning and possible trial for murder & piracy. If their defense was 'necessity to preserve the State of Israel, then that should have been brought out.

And I always have to keep in mind, the LBJ Administration was a total group of sissies, i.e. the unavenged attack on the USS Pueblo. Makes Bush II look macho.
