I heard a story once that McPeak ordered all General's at a CORONA confernece to show up in the new uniform. General Fogleman (then head of TRANSCOM) showed up in his military fatigues.

... Space Commodore McPeak for is his trip into fashion design. He decided that the Air Force blue suit should look more like the Navy uniform with a lot of silver braid and shoulder boards.
