Last I heard the Roma didn't invent the Mafia, or the Corsican Union ~ that was a deal cooked up by Italian, Sicilian and French criminals.

The issue, as various posts on this thread note, is that there are young children who are sent out to steal as a matter of fact. The fact that the gov’t has been lenient on the perpetrators has caused it to worsen over the years to the point of violence. This is a logical step in protecting the citizens.
