Rasmussen Poll: offshore oil drilling call boosts McCain's lead in Florida
red state ^

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/florida/election_2008_florida_presidential_election

Rasmussen Reports conducted a special Florida survey to measure the immediate impact of the offshore drilling issue on the Presidential race. As one part of the survey, respondents were told that McCain favored offshore drilling and said it would bring down the price of gas and oil. They were also told that Barack Obama opposed offshore drilling and said it would not bring down the price of gas and oil. After hearing the views of both McCain and Obama, most Florida voters agreed with McCain--61% said it was likely that offshore drilling would reduce gas prices. Only 34% disagreed and said that offshore drilling would not accomplish that goal.

The Florida survey also found that McCain currently leads Obama in the state by a 47% to 39% margin. Six percent (6%) said they would vote for some other candidate while 8% are undecided.

However, after voters were told that McCain favored offshore drilling and Obama opposed it, McCain’s lead increased to eleven points, 49% to 38%. While a three-point net gain is not stunning, it is significant that the issue didn’t push voters towards Obama. All of McCain’s gains on the offshore drilling issue came from male voters.

VERY good. Now let’s suggest drilling in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Nevada . . . and any other swing states! lol

Absolutely! I think this is an issue that Dems will absolutely lose on. And they overstepped the line today with the whole “nationalization thing” today.

Now compare this poll to the Obama propaganda published by those frauds at Quinepec University. Rasmussen also has Mccain ahead in Ohio too versus the pack of lies the lefties at CNN and the AFP ( socialist French news group) were screaming from the mountain tops !
The leftist media and these phony poll groups are active members of the Obama camp.

funny thing about that is that most of those states do have oil reserves...I even know of an abandoned oil well on a family member’s land in Michigan...

The Florida Dems are tripping over themselves to denounce Crist’s call for offshore drilling.

The Dems in this state warm my heart. They are so forlorn and hapless that you really feel sorry for them—NOT!

We just have to make sure we effectively counter any Dummycrat attempts to turn the tables, ala the 68 million acres thing they tried yesterday.

The Dems are about to change their minds.....just like the immigration thing.

I expect Obama to step to the podium and say: It is the obligation of the President to listen to the people.....blah, blah, blah....

Of course, there'll be a bigger, newer tax on the oil....but he'll keep that part a secret for now.

Right there was just a poll showing an Obama lead. I don’t claim to know for sure but it sure makes me suspicious.

The louder he shouts, the higher McCain will rise. This is a national emergency, people! How the hell can you protect our economy and security if you DON’T support drilling???!!!!
I don’t care how much money Ocommie raises, America wants to drill. Da Dems will learn.

Why would any state with the prospect of drilling for oil, reject it? Why would any American want to send all those petrol dollars overseas to our enemies?

Maybe because they are Democrats? Maybe because they hate capitalism? Maybe because the don’t want to have the middle class prosper with better 401K’s? Maybe because they are just plain idiots?

McCain continues to hold a sizeable lead over Obama in Florida, which is helped out more when voters are aware of his popular drilling position.

The McCain List.
