The day after Al Gore endorsed Barack Obama in Detroit, MSNBC kept repeating the allegedly big news with the on-air question "Will Gore Help or Hurt Obama?" Left out of that question: Who cares? Does Gore's endorsement matter at all?
Pundits usually declare in today's media-saturated world that endorsements from major politicians or movie stars just don't have much impact. A Who's Who of the Beautiful People in Hollywood endorsed and actively campaigned for John Kerry -- and had no impact.
With Al Gore it's the same thing. He doesn't bring a single vote Obama doesn't already have. He could have participated in the process, but he waited until the primary challenge from Hillary was over. Now he supports Obama. Where in the world is the news there?
But this is Obama. Anything related to Obama that could be construed as helpful becomes news.

Conclusion: It doesn't matter to these reporters that Al Gore couldn't even win his home state of Tennessee in 2000. It doesn't matter that Gore's 2004 endorsement of Howard Dean wasn't exactly pixie dust. Every day, the media go looking for an opportunity to paint a moon and stars over Obama's head and swoon at how they're making "history" happen.
Well said.
Gore’s a “has-been” and a joke. Even the local news in liberal Boston picked up the story about Gore using 10% more electricity at his mansion this year over last year.
A couple years back, Hillary said Gore's job was to get the young voters involved.....It gave me the impression that Hillary was Gore's promoter...

When asked about Hurricane Katrina which struck N.O. just before a "massive homosexual rally" a.k.a. an annual street party called "Southern Decadence" was scheduled in the French Quarter, Hagee said, "I believe the Bible teaches that when you violate the law of God, that God brings punishment sometimes before the day of judgment. And I believe that Hurricane Katrina was, in fact the judgment of God against the city of N.O."
And God got his way: By drowning all of those little old ladies in their Ninth Ward attics, God prevented a massive gay rally for one year.
So how does Hagee explain away the tragedy in Iowa last week? A tornado struck a Boy Scout camp, killing 4 and injuring scores more, and the Scouts are famously antigay and anti-atheist. Well, we need only consult Rev. Hagee for the answer: "It is wrong to say that every natural disaster is the result of sin. No man on Earth knows the mind of God."
See how that works? Not every natural disaster is the result of sin because sometimes natural disasters happen to us, not just to them and when they happen to us the Lord moves in mysterious ways. But let a natural disaster strike San Francisco now, and Rev. Hagee will be able to read the mind of God like was a large-print edition of Highlights for Children.
Baby Huey endorses Jughead. Headline of the day!
The question of why God allows bad things to happen is well addressed in the Bible.
Scripture teaches there are many reasons -- not all of which may apply to a given situation, and not all of which we may be able to discern.
The Bible also provides detailed instructions how to deal with adversity when it happens to you or someone you care about.
