Obama should take a job where he belongs — in the U.N.
You know, Obama going to work for the UN—that’s what we were talking about this morning. That’s pretty good.
OBAMA, TAX HIKER & PROUD: What a relief that Obama is a new politician with fresh ideas and a “post-partisan” way of looking at things. Who else could have thought up a plan to “save” Social Security so clever that all it takes is one gigantic tax hike? Why, no one inside the Beltway, that’s for sure!
Obama told residents of a retirement facility in Columbus, Ohio that his plan “allows us to extend the life of Social Security” without raising the retirement age or cutting benefits. All it takes is a job-destroying, anti-growth tax hike on incomes $250,000 and above.
Then, taking aim at McCain’s timid embrace of allowing individuals to own some of their retirement assets, Obama said: “Imagine if your security now was tied up with the Dow Jones ... You wouldn’t feel very confident about the security of your nest egg.”
No? Well, I’d rather take the risk of managing my money than “tying it up” with politicians who announce a “crisis” with our retirement funds every few years. Heck, I could get better returns out of my piggy bank. —Laura I
