I don’t know, I think this was just some old fashioned horse trading. Dumping the Stelly plan is a huge deal and it will save Louisiana taxpayers a lot more then what they’ll lose by this salary increase.

But didn't they just raise tuition at universities, community colleges? Also the tax break does not happen until 2010, this pay raise happens 07/08. Jindal ran a campaign against the very thing he is saying he will not veto. Veto it, let them over ride it. Vote the bums out.
