Glad to hear there was no bomb.

Well, I got some more information from my husband when he got home from work last night. Thought I would clear up some of the misconceptions I got from his explanation earlier in the day...
1. The clearing out of the building was actually quite orderly and quick. It was getting out of the parking lot that was the problem with so many trying to leave via the main exit from the parking lot - that is where the 20 minutes to leave part came in... His words were “It took me 20 minutes to get out of there”, so I had assumed he meant the building. Makes a LOT more sense now...
2. It was NOT announced to the shoppers what was going on. A “Code Blue” was called out and everyone was evacuated. My husband waited for a few minutes outside the store, and struck up a conversation with another shopper who was there.
This man had apparently worked for Wal-mart in the past, and it was that man who explained to my husband what a “Code Blue” meant - a bomb threat. It was at that point that my husband figured they wouldn’t be going back in for some time and decided to leave. This wasn’t “common knowledge” among the shoppers, hence why the Ch. 9 story refers to covering it in an effort to inform the many people who were shopping there why they had to leave.
Anyway, my husband and I actually went to Wal-mart last night at 3:30 a.m. when he arrived home from work. It was “business as usual” there last night.
I just wanted to clear up some of what I reported yesterday. I have to tell you it was quite a shock, but I felt silly being upset over it after “covering” the tragedy of the tornadoes last night - especially the one that hit the boy scout camp. Kind of puts it all in perspective.
