This is the scariest part:

Dorgan wants the federal government to decide who shall own media properties and whether they are serving the “public interest.” He is the “progressive” point man for “media reform” in the Senate and bragged about how he had gotten Republican Senator Trent Lott to go along with his efforts. Lott recently resigned to become a lobbyist.

And apparently the FCC is in agreement, because the chairman was there hoorahing right along with the nutcases.

The status quo is not working. We have $10 Trillion in debt. We have a $1 Trillion federal budget proposed. We have $500 billion current accounts deficit. We have a $400 billion trade deficit. We have $99 Trillion (!!) in unfunded future mandates in only three programs.

All this is paid for by a shrinking pool of taxpayers as the tax system becomes more and more "progressive". Fully 1/3 of people filing tax returns pay no taxes, but instead use April 15 to get money from the government.

Given all this I'm finding that I'm more and more comfortable with the mixed race Socialist running things.

Lets face it the R's did nothing to fix these underlying problems, and exacerbated them. Who was the last GOP leader who stood up forefully to creaping Socialism? Reagan gently critqued it, but did not have the legislative power to really challenge it. Goldwater explicitly derided it and was crushed.

As a Democratic Republic the demos (people) ultimately do have the say in how things work. The people have shown themselves to want socialism, want big government, want to be taken care of. We don't want liberty and personal responsibility.

Therefore the ONLY way I see to get from here (our quasi-socialist nation) to there (something more like the founders ideal and what we had until the mid 20th century in varying degrees) is to go THROUGH THE FIRE. The "fire" is the inherrent contradictions of socialism.

Because the media is totally complicit in the demonization of the free market and traditionalism it is imperative that the figurehead for this next phase (collapse) be a Democrat. And the Obamamessiah is the PERFECT front man for what is to come. He is the living, breathing personification of all the liberal lies: that a law degree is superior to an engineering degree, that some pigs are more equal, that government can improve our lives, that affirmative action can create good leaders.

Let it roll! Bring it on!

You've just identified and classified over half of the electorate, and you are correct in your assessment.
