Nevadan: I’m not sure what you mean by this? Are you saying Robert Bork didn’t pass the Senate confirmation hearings because of pre-office hijinx? If so, what pre-office hijinx are you refering too?

Nevadan: I’d not heard that about Bork. Even if true, that is not why Bork was refused confirmation on the Supreme Court. The reason was he was a strict constructionist of the Constitution. Within 45 minutes of his nomination, Teddy Kennedy said,

“Robert Bork’s America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens’ doors in midnight raids, schoolchildren could not be taught about evolution, writers and artists could be censored at the whim of the Government, and the doors of the Federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens.”

All the liberals lined up against him as well as the ACLU. Never heard that they were upset about smoking pot.

It looks like I am going to have to belly up and eat some humble pie. I thought I remembered some crud about his dope smoking in college, but it looks as if my memory is a bit spotty. I however do reiterate my objections to the hypocrisy of the Democrats.

You might be thinking of Douglas Ginsberg, who withdrew his name after it was disclosed that he smoked pot in college. He had been nominated to replace Bork after the Swimmer and his traitorous friends denied Bork the seat he so richly deserved.

Ginsburg was selected to replace Bork; but withdrew due to some financial stuff and smoking pot in college.

Yes, this is what they did. No, I won't be taking any of their offered "happy-think". Nothing anyone on the left every says, about anything, forever, will ever matter to me in the slightest. They have simply exiled themselves from the human race, and are now a mere brute inconvenience of nature, no more to be reasoned with than a plague.

In my response I stated I really hope Rush, Sean, and other Conservative talk show hosts highlight his column on their shows Monday. This is really serious business; we are up against a Leftist Juggernaut, powered by a more than willing MSM to prop up a hard core Socialist and get him handily elected as our next President.

...This is by and large a part of the problem; my personal opinion is the MSM has long had a hand in creating the electoral makeup, what with the incessant negative reporting on the Bush Administration and the GOP as articulated in Mr. Di Pippo's column. The only reason it isn't 60/40 (Democrat/Republican), at least for the moment anyway, is because of the efforts of Conservative Talk Radio and Internet Blogs. And of course, people like ourselves who don't easily buy into the Mainstream Media's nonsense (I go one step further: I no longer subscribe to cable television or newspapers for that matter).

Unfortunately, there are still many people out there who are not immune to the Marxist onslaught: Just the other day the pastor's Administrative Assistant of my church forwarded me an email encouraging (Black) people to buy the latest copy of Newsweek, which features exclusive coverage of Michelle Obama.

My response was as follows: "I hate to rain on your parade, but I do not support Senator Obama's candidacy, nor will I put one red cent into the Liberal Media's coffers, especially Newsweak."
