The VP can only be removed by a formal ratified act of impeachment.

Alone, the President is powerless to do anything of the sort.

Thanks to you and others here on the clarifications on the Constitution and no provision for the President firing his Vice President, but that he would somehow have to get an impeachment and trial upon the Hill.

That is what I meant by "Constitution crisis" possible for President Obama if he lets that Hillary anywhere NEAR the top power, but not squarely in it (as such as VP), just close enough to allow here to lick her chops.

All he could do would be on guard, put up with her antics, and then dump her as Vice President nominee in 2012. Of course, whereupon she would run against him in the Dem. primary and it would be 2008 all over again. What a mess.

That is why she will never get close to the VP slot. Additionally, the president cannot bring the charges-it would have to originate in the House of Representatives.

To get her to publically say she is not interested in the VP spot is by informing her that one of the conditions for consideration would be that they would have to open the Clinton Floundation’s records for review. The Clinton’s could not allow that.
