Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will endorse Senator Barack Obama on Friday, bringing a close to her 17-month campaign for the White House, aides said. Her decision came after Democrats urged her on Wednesday to leave the race and allow the party to coalesce around Mr. Obama.
Mrs. Clinton’s aides said she would “express her support for Senator Obama and party unity” at an event in Washington that day. One adviser said that Mrs. Clinton would concede defeat, congratulate Mr. Obama and proclaim him the party’s nominee, while pledging to do what was needed to assure his victory.
Her decision came after a day of conversations with supporters on Capitol Hill about her future now that that Mr. Obama had clinched the nomination. Mrs. Clinton had, in a speech after Tuesday night’s primaries, suggested she wanted to wait before deciding about her future, but in conversations throughout the day on Wednesday, her aides said, she was urged to step aside.
“We pledged to support her to the end,” Representative Charles B. Rangel, a New York Democrat who has been a patron of Mrs. Clinton since she first ran for the Senate, said in an interview “Our problem is not being able to determine when the hell the end is.”
Mrs. Clinton’s decision came as some of her most prominent supporters — including former Vice President Walter F. Mondale — announced that they were now backing Mr. Obama.

Say what you want about Hillary....but I give her all the credit in the world. She went out there and gave her all, had to deal with the “BILL” questions and comments, she never gave up and she kept fighting. I like that in a leader....I may oppose her ideology, but damn if I don’t admire her determination. She was on the right side of the war when there was a vote....no matter what rhetoric she said...her vote is where it counted.
In the meantime.. time to use the Clintons to help take out Obama.

Something makes no sense, if she were REALLY endorsing Obama, she’d concede and not suspend, she’d give up those delegates but she won’t...she is hoping something more comes out on Hussein...because lets face it, there were MANY times during the campaign she actually praised McCain and criticized Obama, this is all a smokescreen, she either knows something is going to happen before the convention or hopes it.
It never ends with the Clintons. Think of it as you would a Palestinian cease fire. They're merely rearming. The Clintons 'don't take a dump without a plan'. Stay tuned and keep that popcorn machine running.

I am not holding my breath on the rumored “Whitey” video, but maybe she’s seen it (she and Bill still have contacts high in the political food-chain) and knows the bomb is going to be dropped somtime before the GE. She just has to try and set things up so that there is no way it can be tied back to her if it does surface. Could backfire and lead to more anti-Clinton sentiment. The rumors that a tape exists in which Michelle Obama utters racist remarks have been floating around now for several weeks. But the last two days have brought signs that it may be far more than a rumor.
Yesterday on the Fox News Channel a Republican operative, Roger Stone, said he believes the tape exists and that a major network is in possession of the tape. Today, Larry Johnson at No Quarter - a pro-Hillary Democratic Blog - is giving shocking details of what he says five sources have confirmed about the tape:
I learned over the weekend why the Republicans who have seen the tape of Michelle Obama ranting about “whitey” describe it as “STUNNING.” I have not seen it but I have heard from five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape. It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church when Michelle makes her intemperate remarks. Whoops!! When that image comes out it will enter the politcal ads hall of fame. It will be right up there with the little girl plucking daisy petals in the famous 1964 ad LBJ used against Barry Goldwater.
Barack may have quit his church but his religious problems are not over. Barack Obama has a Nation of Islam problem that will receive more attention in the coming days. Before Barack came on the scene, THE MAN in his political district was Louis Farrakhan. No one could take Alice Palmer’s seat without Farrakhan’s blessing. No one. I do not fault Barack Obama for seeking out the blessing of Farrakhan, but the story of what was done behind the scenes to get rid of Barack’s predecessor—Alice Palmer—has not been told. A knowledgeable source tells me that Tony Rezko played a direct role in this feat. And Rezko has been tight with Farrakhan.
It also should come as no surprise that Barack hired two members of the Nation of Islam to work on his staff—Jennifer Mason and Cynthia K. Miller. (And no, I am not merely recycling info initially reported by Debbie Schlussel. I have two independent Chicago sources for this info.) If Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger had kept their yaps buttoned none of this would mean much. But the fact that both men have been—until scrubbed from the website in recent weeks—listed as spiritual advisors to Barack Obama and also are very close to Louis Farrakhan, forces the question about Barack’s faith and beliefs.
In probing those matters we begin to understand that the Nation of Islam has been a critical component of Barack Obama’s base of support. And, I am told, Louis Farrakhan has been careful to use Tony Rezko as the intermediary in his relationship with Barack. This is not guilt by association, this is guilt because of actual relationship. Farrakhan, Wright, and Pfleger are each on tape in various settings spewing the most vile racists garbage in the guise of preaching. Barack Obama, up to this point, has tried to pretend he had no idea that these men had these thoughts or said these things.
NONSENSE!! He knew and he knows. And the gig will be up when the Michelle tape hits the airwaves. One source described how this tape was acquired. Let’s just say that one of the republican candidates who is no longer in the race, but had a dandy oppo research capability, uncovered this gem. If Republican poohbahs have their way the tape will remain on ice until October. But when it comes out, Barack will be permanently branded with the Nation of Islam. That’s not a winning platform in November. And Barack’s bundlers understand this threat. I also have learned some major financial backers are asking the Barack team about the tape and are being stonewalled. It is a wild card in the political campaign that has not yet played out.
The level of detail coming out about this alleged tape is getting awfully specific. If there is a tape showing Michelle Obama uttering racist remarks while next to Louis Farrkhan, it will be beyond devastating. We’ll see how this plays out in the weeks/months to come.

Could this dysfunctional woman (and man) even go through with that public and private humiliation, event-after-event at the White House, for eight long years?
She would snap, I swear, a corpuscle in her brain would burst from jealousy and anger. I don't think she would be able to contain her envious rage, nor would Bill for that matter. A real "two-fer". It would be one of the most pitiful, but perhaps even dangerous things to view in American history.
This would be the most rocky President-Vice President relationship perhaps in US history.
Also, Freeper Constitutional experts out there: The Vice President is also selected by electors in the Electoral College. What constitutional provisions are there by his or her FIRING by the President? Could a constitutional battle be triggered if Obama tired of her, or worse yet, had been politically threatened by her or worse in her unsatiatable thirst to become Commander in Chief, and attempted to remove her?? Everyone knows she would fight tooth and nail. Probably she would just run against him again in 2012. One wonders.
For Obama's staff and the man himself, they better realllllly think this one through over the weekend.
