Islamic extremists could escape prosecution and instead receive therapy and counselling under new Government plans to "deradicalise" religious fanatics. The Home Office is to announce an extra £12.5 million to support new initiatives to try to stop extremism spreading.
The central element of the Home Office plan is a new national "deradicalisation" programme that would persuade converts to violent and extremist causes to change their views.
Controversially, the new plan makes clear that people who fall under the influence of violent organisations will not automatically face prosecution.
Article continuesadvertisement Instead, the presumption should be that some such individuals would face therapy and counselling from community groups instead of criminal charges.
Documents being distributed to local councils explain that many people who get drawn into extremism have often suffered some sort of personal trauma or crisis that makes them vulnerable to exploitation.
"We do not want to put through the criminal justice system those who are vulnerable to, or are being drawn into, violent extremism unless they have clearly committed an offence," a Home Office report says.

Yes, make the courts force them to take up knitting. That’ll do it... yeah.
That’s because they don’t have basketball in the UK.

One word: MOSQUES
Say what!!!!? Que?
Yep, the article goes on to say this will be administered by so called ‘community groups’(who might they be?). As the Libs sang in the 60’s ‘When will they ever learn’?
Well, if they had basketball in the UK they could have these guys play midnight basketball. Or maybe soccer to keep them from being terrorists.
A few years back there were some politicians here in the U.S. that created a midnight basketball program to keep young criminals off the street at night. It was scoffed at mightily. The idea that criminals would stop mugging and robberies because they could play basketball instead.
The big game for these guys is usually cricket.... or maybe that explains things....? :^)
The ones who need therapy are the non-Muslims who are so deep in denial that they believe terrorists can be talked out of being terrorists.
That was the Kingston Trio, and it was the 1950s.
You can’t reason with ‘em liberals..... they think they are sooooo much more enlightened.....
[BANG!]
“You’re cured.”
Why did you let in people in the first place who need therapy!!!???
Would have been a perfect solution to WWII. The Nazis just needed therapy. /s
If you read the comments to the Telegraph article at the link, you’ll see the average blokes have the pulse of the lunacy going on in their nation. Too bad they have too much common sense to be in charge.
Lithium therapy doesn’t work on this condition. Your solution does. In doses anywhere from 0.22 caliber 55 grain, to a 30-06 at 180 grains, or even a 0.50 caliber 295 grain application of lead. The beautiful part is that the need for prosecution is permanently eliminated - your solution usually provides a complete cure for violent extremism with a single dose.
