The fact that he went to the father tells me that he thought he was engaged in a relationship, and not just banging a young honey. Imagine finding out that what you thought was a decent relationship actually wasn't... and will actually land you in jail, no matter the circumstnaces. Then when you find out that she had done it before... rough day.
What a concept !
BRILLIANT!
Okay. Now what do you do if someone DOES have sex with someone they aren't married to?
This girl has a big future for several years as a Police Decoy for Entrapment cases. That would get her off the hook, although, it seems she really has never been “on” the hook. She and her father should be the ones punished.
This is one sickening story. Hard to believe, even though there seems to be a story like this from somewhere every month or so, that there are judges this bad in the USA.

Way back I recall a study done in Puerto Rico that blamed hormones in chickens and eggs.
She should not be driving if she is 13 and if she was my daughter she would be locked in her room and have to ask permission to go to the bathroom. Would be no second time.
Unfortunate turn of events, but I’m on the side of the law as it was written and as it was applied in this case.
Also use the Biblical remedy, the man either has to pay a dowry (seven years wages) or marry the girl with no right to divorce her even if/when she is unfaithful (life sentence). The prisons are crowded and behind bars crime begets even more crime; there are much better ways that don't include free cable tv. To end the fornication epidemic sentencing of dowry or marriage has wisdom from above.
Of course he is. The law would be well nigh unenforceable if it were up to the courts to prove what the defendant's state of mind was at the time he was committing the crime.
I'm not supporting sex with minors at all but the way some of these girls dress and act nowadays...I can see guys getting confused.
Here's a way to not be confused: get to know someone well before you sleep with her.
Delmar O'Donnell: Ok, Everett.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Hit by a train! Truth means nothing to a woman, Delmar. Trying for the subjective. You ever been with a woman?
Delmar O'Donnell: Well, I... I... I gotta get the family farm back before I can start thinking about that.
Ulysses Everett McGill: That's right, if then. Believe me Delmar, woman is the most fiendish instrument of torture ever devised to bedevil the days of man.
Take personal responsibility for what happens next, whatever it may be (pregnancy, STDs, statutory rape, annoying chicks that call you 20 times a day for the next week).
Indeed. Not really rocket science, is it? Discouraging though, to know that at a conservative forum the idea will bring some catcalls; and a popular solution will be to recommend checking birth certificates before practicing canine morality.
I’m on the side of the law too but I’m also on the side of judges using common sense when applying it. Give the guys probation and clear their record after awhile if they don’t get in trouble again. Instruct CPS to investigate what is not happening in that home.
Even if she had diarrhea?
Sorry, she lied.
