People, Faith, Obama [Obama accepts testimonial from 9/11 conspiracy theorist]

U.S. Congressman Keith Ellison

Muslim, Minnesota

I am a proud Muslim American whose faith informs my actions. I believe in the spirit - and practice - of generosity and inclusiveness. I believe in an America where scarcity is a myth and poverty is not necessary. America need not have thirty seven million Americans living below the poverty line. It is a choice. Hunger is a choice. Exclusion of the stranger, the immigrant, or the darker other is a choice.

Like Senator Obama, I believe that the problems of poverty and healthcare, racism and education, childcare and human rights are not simply technical problems to be addressed by an amendment here or a resolution there. They are rooted in societal indifference and individual callousness - the politics of scarcity. Solving our problems will indeed require changes in government policy; but it will also require changes in hearts, minds and spirits. Our faith informs our hearts, minds and spirits.

Obama's pastor suggested that the United States deserved 9/11, and Obama accepted a testimonial--better download this page and take screenshots before Ellison vanishes like Jermiah Wright and Michael Pfleger--from an individual who implies that the U.S. perpetrated 9/11.

It’s almost like the Reichstag fire in Nazi Germany, kind of reminds me of that. After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it and put the leader of that country (Hitler) in a position where he could basically have the authority to do whatever he wanted. The fact is that I’m not saying [Sept. 11] was a U.S. plan, or anything like that because, you know, that’s how they put you in the nut-box-dismiss you.

Keith Ellison, July 8 2007

Wisdom From Teddy Roosevelt

In these times of feeling the pressure to be politically correct, if we are to maintain our way of life paid for by the bloodshed of many thousands of American soldiers since our Republic was founded, we might keep in mind the words of Theodore Roosevelt:

"There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all.  This is just as true of the man who puts “native” before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French before the hyphen. Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance.

But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as any one else.

The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English- Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian- Americans, or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality than with the other citizens of the American Republic.

Men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country. The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American."

Obviously all that died out with our grandfathers. Reagan was a last echo. It is gone forever.

Keith Ellison's MAS Hate Affair By Joe Kaufman FrontPageMagazine.com | Friday, May 30, 2008 After being outed for speaking in front of an organization, the Minnesota chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS-Minnesota) – as the group was calling for the murder of Jews and the waging of war against non-Muslims – United States Representative Keith Ellison (D-Minnesota) has gone back for a repeat performance. Yet, while Congressman Ellison continues his outrageous conduct, he still gets rewarded with invites to sit on Congressional entities highly inappropriate for someone such as himself. Why?

For well over five years, since at least December of 2002, MAS-Minnesota propagated hatred on its website aimed at Jews and Christians. Up until recently, when the pages containing the offending material were removed, the following quotes could be found on the site:

* “The Holy Prophet (and through him the Muslims) has been reassured that he should not mind the enmity, the evil designs and the machinations of the Jews...”
* “In view of the degenerate moral condition of the Jews and the Christians, the Believers have been warned not to make them their friends and confidants.”
* “If you gain a victory over the men of Jews, kill them.”
* “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say, ‘O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.’”
* “May Allah destroy the Jews, because they used the graves of their prophets as places of worship.”
As well, there were quotes calling for violence in the name of Islam and praising terrorist organizations.

They included:

* “A Muslim must always worship Allah and wage jihad until death in order to reach his ultimate goal… Regularly make the intention to go on jihad with the ambition to die as a martyr.”
* “The [Islamic] revolution... has been crystallized in the steadfast, brave, aware Islamic resistance movement ‘Hamas’... Hamas is an embodiment of the Palestinian People’s belief in its Muslim and Arab origins, and a testimony that this people is still alive and will never die and that its jihad will be carried on by pure hands and clean hearts until victory is achieved with the will of Allah.”
* “Western secularism moved into a Muslim world already estranged from its Qur’anic roots, and delayed its advancement for centuries, and will continue to do so until we drive it from our lands. Moreover, we will not stop at this point, but will pursue this evil force to its own lands, invade its Western heartland, and struggle to overcome it until all the world shouts by the name of the Prophet and the teachings of Islam spread throughout the world.”

All of the above statements were located on the MAS-Minnesota website, when U.S. Representative Keith Ellison gave the keynote address at the group’s 4th Annual Convention, in May of 2007.

Exclusion of the stranger, the immigrant, or the darker other is a choice.

Cool! I didn't realize I had that choice.

There are only two reasons people what to come to America!

1. They know America is the land of opportunity! Its the land of Freedom, and you can succeed at anything you put your mind to. Its a place where your family can achieve and be free from in justice. America were people are doing anything to get in...and there is not a mass exit for Iran, or Mexico!

2. Reason is to Kill Americans, This is why we are in Iraq, Afghanistan!!!! Eliminate the threat with extreme Prejudice

"I am a proud Muslim American whose faith informs my actions."

That's precisely what concerns us, Keith.

Hunger is a choice.

Correct. And the proven solution, in this country at least, is WORKING TO PROVIDE FOR YOUR OWN NEEDS, AND THOSE OF YOUR FAMILY!

Obama change idea to solve the problem of there being people under the poverty level:

re-define poverty level downwards until everyone is above it.

Simple, cheap, effective....change you can believe in.

America need not have thirty seven million Americans living below the poverty line.

"Those who will not (not ‘can not; repeat NOT those who CAN not) work, shall not be fed."

Artificial “lines” to define ‘poverty’ as living on a level envied by hundreds of millions of people around the world is not ‘living in poverty’.

And, yes; we spent some time (most notably under Carter) well below the “poverty line”; but we never missed a meal, didn't ever not have a roof over our heads, didn't ever not have transportation; didn't freeze, nor go without phone, water, electricity, or TV.

There is no shame in being poor; but there is in not doing anything to change your situation.

whose faith informs my actions....

so much for his oath of office. And in case he forgot, it goes like this:

"I, (name of Member), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."
