A current volcano, Chaiten in Chile, dramatically erupted after 9000+ years on May 5, and, it is still erupting. There have been concerns that as it weakens in its eruption, there might be a chaldera collapse and a resultant pyroclastic flow....some reports do not fear an explosion.
