Howard Dean's Midnight Call From Al Gore After 2004 Loss By Greg Sargent - May 31, 2008, 10:20AM
Howard Dean delivered some strong words in his opening remarks at Rules and Bylaws, telling an anecdote about his bitter, hard-fought loss in 2004.
"I was very very angry at my party for some of the things that had been done," Dean said, going on to recall getting a phone call in the middle of the night from Al Gore, to whom Dean ranted and raved about his loss.
"What do I owe the Democratic Party?" Dean recalled telling Gore. "Why should I be a Democrat after what the party did to me?"
According to Dean, Gore responded: "Howard, you know, this is not about you. It's about your country."
"Nobody could have said that to me except for Al Gore," Dean continued, since Gore had had the presidency snatched from him by "five intellectually bankrupt Supreme Court justices who did the wrong thing."

Dean can’t even count. The vote was 7-2 that SCOFLA was violating the Constitution, trying to rig the election results the way Gore wanted them. Seven to two Howie - you’re an effing moron.
....since Gore had had the presidency snatched from him by “five intellectually bankrupt Supreme Court justices who did the wrong thing.
::::
Of course, liberals NEVER lose. Something is always a win, or it have BEEN STOLEN from them. The Supreme Court forced Florida TO FOLLOW THE LAW AND NOT BREAK IT. That is being “intellectually bankrupt” (and not corrupt). The LAW and the Constitution have always been an OBSTACLE for the corrupt, law-breaking left.
They just simply do not like obeying the law. They just cannot get anything DONE that way -—
“What do I owe the Democratic Party?” Dean recalled telling Gore.”
Man, the Democrats sure are a party of sore losers!
What else could a red-faced, bitter, angry, disturbed loon like him be?
I like a good laugh first thing in the day. These dumbocrap babies amuse the hell out of me — telling lies and then crying over them. What a bunch of morons.
“five intellectually bankrupt Supreme Court justices who did the wrong thing.”
This is his view of the Supreme Court? “Intellectually bankrupt” is way too kind a term to used in reference to the Democratic Party. “Chronically dishonest and lying” would be more appropriate.
Go back to Vermont, Dean. You’ve already been rejected by the country. Maybe your fellow aging hippies there will give you a hit on their bong.
The rat is a strange and loathsome creature.
Bitter? Hard fought? He was creamed. In the end Mr. Internet Candidate had about 6% of the Democrats who supported him. That put him at the asterisk level in general popular vote.
Dean, you owe the democratic party your life long allegience. Don’t even think about switching parties.
One of the love Howard Dean’s statements was that Al Gore had the presidential election stolen from him by five supreme court justices with no morals.
I’m sorry, but why does the Dem party get away with constantly spouting this crap and what a terrible thing to say about five Supreme Court Justices.
I expect to see the pubbies out and about and excoriating this statement by the Dem party as represented by its national chairperson.
LOL. Dean probably made up the story about what Weird Al said to him. They dont even lie well.
OK. I give. What DID the party do to him?! Even in his warped mind, what is supposed to spring to mind when we hear him say this?
The scariest thing about the mental midget Dean is that they used to let him practice medicine.
and not only that, subsequent re-counts showed algore would have lost anyway
Yep, the vote was "recounted" by the Democrat press a zillion times, and Bush won every time.
And the first step toward recovery is to admit your illness. Scream has a long ways to go...
