Blame? Clinton need only look in her mirror - The Bad Endgame

Hillary Clinton has many things to be proud of in this presidential election. But the way she and her supporters have chosen to end her campaign is not one of them.

When Clinton ran for president, she made history. Never had a woman run who had a real shot at winning and who started the race as the odds-on favorite. She ran a good campaign, and she had a solid organization. And no matter what happens, as Barack Obama has said recently, Clinton has forever changed the rules for female presidential candidates.

All of that is very empowering, not just for women but for all who are pleased to see barriers fall, doors open and opportunities expand. For our daughters, the world will be a different place.

But what a disappointment it is to see how Clinton and her supporters have behaved of late.

It's not just that Clinton made ghastly comments to a South Dakota newspaper about how she is staying in the race because stuff happens as late in the presidential calendar as June, and then brought up that it was June 1968 when Robert Kennedy was assassinated in Los Angeles. Or that she has once again, in recent days, argued that she is the only Democrat who can beat John McCain in November when it was just a few weeks ago that she said during a debate on ABC News that she was sure either she or Obama would beat McCain.

More troubling is that the Clinton endgame seems to be all about blame. Hillary and her supporters are doing everything they can to pin the impending demise of this historic presidential campaign on – you name it – the media's infatuation with Obama, the Democratic National Committee's refusal to count delegates in Michigan and Florida and anything else they can think up.

Bill Clinton, who has said many outrageous things during this campaign, now suggests Hillary is the victim of a “cover-up” and a secret campaign to bully and pressure superdelegates to come out for Obama. Clinton didn't specify who he thought was orchestrating the cover-up, but it was clear he was talking about either the media or leaders of the Democratic Party who were intent on denying her the nomination, even though, he insisted, she had the best chance to win in November.

Then there is the old standby – sexism. More and more commentators and Clinton operatives are suggesting Hillary's campaign was torpedoed by male chauvinism. They even point to some off-color comments by a handful of broadcast journalists that, they say, prove that the glass ceiling for women is still as impermeable as ever.

Even Hillary herself, in an interview with The Washington Post, made reference to “the sexism that has gone on in this campaign” and accused the press of not being “bothered by the incredible vitriol that has been engendered by the comments by people who are nothing but misogynists.”

What nonsense. What an offensive, and disempowering, rewriting of history. When things don't go as planned, it's always appealing to portray yourself as a victim and lay blame elsewhere. But, ultimately, there is only one person responsible for the fact that Hillary Clinton does not appear to be headed to the Oval Office, and that's Hillary Clinton.

The ENDGAME is all about blame? Have these people been in a coma since 1992?

...at least June, which is the month that Bobby Kennedy was tragically assassinated.

...until I'm confirmed as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Yeah, lots to be proud of - playing the race card at every opportunity, demanding she gets the delegates in Michigan, where his name wasn't even on the ballot, busing in thousands from MA to steak the NH primary, lying about sniper fire in Bosnia. boring millions with her robotic canned speeches, playing the Obama drug use story through the media and generally showing herself to be the ugly, disgusting c#nt everyone knows she is...

Anyone who would ever expect any class from the Clintons, either at the beginning or end of a campaign, any sense of decency in anything they do - is delusional.

These people are sewage and the sooner they are flushed down the septic tank of American history, the better.

She ran a good campaign, and she had a solid organization.

Definitely not true.
