Democrats Advised to Seat Half of Disputed Delegates (Democrats, payback is hell)
NY Times ^ | 5/28/2008 | KATHARINE Q. SEELYE

Democratic Party lawyers have determined that no more than half the delegates from Florida and Michigan can be seated at the party’s August convention, dealing a blow to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s efforts to seat the full delegations from those states.

The rules committee of the Democratic National Committee meets on Saturday to determine whether to seat the delegates from these states, which were penalized for holding early primaries.

In asking that the full delegations from these states be seated, Mrs. Clinton hopes to narrow Senator Barack Obama’s delegate edge and make the case that by including the votes from these states, she will have more of the popular vote in the nominating contests, an assertion that has come under some dispute. But the party’s legal analysis, contained in a 38-page memo to the committee, says the committee can either seat only 50 percent of the delegates or seat them all but give them only half a vote, which amounts to the same thing.

So, will they seat the Clinton half, or the O’bama half?

You either broke the rules or you didn’t. You can’t “half” break the rules. This is ridiculous.

Don’t the dems usually refer to this as making someone a second class citizen.

Telling Clinton to obey the rules is like telling Dracula to take a bath in a church font.

How come the dems are always claiming that republicans are trying to disenfranchise voters and block them from being able to vote.

Wouldn’t this be the mother of all voter blocking?

Hillary should run as an Independent and hand the election to McCain then that way she will have a shot in 2012. If Obama gets elected she's done for at least 8 years and the same thing if she took the VP slot.

It was the KKKlintons who designed this tortuous system for the RAT primary. I hope the party will give them the credit they deserve.

But this would still be a victory for her. If they send a full delegation and give each a half a vote, it will be easy for her to move to have them get full votes — they will already be there.

Better for her, as soon as they give them ANY delegates, she can claim the popular vote victories in these states, add them to her totals, and show she is ahead of Barack.

Remember, her only goal now is to convince the superdelegates to vote for her at the convention.

to convince the superdelegates to vote for her at the convention.

Yes, this is her goal. All it will take is one huge blunder by Obama and this will likely happen.

Then she will count on the "surge" of publicity about how the "amazing Clintons did it again" to carry her into a Nov. victory.

her problem is that if she can some how get the nomination she will alienate the strong urban populations that have supported Obama and alienate others in the party to the extent she will lose the general election

her best chance now is to quit, give half hearted support to Obama, get him to pay her $30 million debt (for what she promises will be full support) then watch him go down in defeat, ramp up for 2012 with lessons learned - lets face it McCain isn’t going to solve the oil crisis we have nor get the war in Iraq ‘over’ by then and she will have 4 years to chop away at him from the Senate - she just needs to cool her heals and wait a bit - also perhaps by then Bill will be out of the picture - he sure hurt her this time and by then perhaps he will have to be put in some kind of home

Seat all of them. Seat none of them. Seat half of them. Make them all stand. No outcome will satisfy Hillary because regardless of what they do she will be second. That is not to say Obama will have won. It will still take the super coward delegates to push either one over the top.

And many in the MSM and DC establishment will go in hiding in fear for their lives!
