Putting aside this controversy for a moment - I want to point out: It was Obama’s “typical white ancestors” (Grandfather, Great-Uncle) from Kansas that signed up to serve the USA during WWII. Yet upon reading “dreams of my Father” Barry only finds his identity with the likes of America Haters Jeremiah Wright, and Chicago left-wing machine politics. Obviously - the loyal and patriotic part of his family wasn’t suitable for an “identity” - but IS suitable to be trotted out of the “attic” when politics requires.
Yes, I have never seen any evidence at all that Obama cared a bit about the “white” side of his family until they became useful campaign props to bolster his new-found “patriotism” schtick. Until the current campaign he was embarrassed by everything “white” and spent his entire adult life trying to identify more with the Kenyan side up his ancestry (and a father he never knew) plus the far-left agitprop racialists of Rev. Wright and friends.
