Yes. "Obama’s maternal grandmother’s brother, Charlie Payne, served with the 89th Infantry Division that liberated Ohrdruf, a subcamp of Buchenwald concentration camp." http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/05/27/obama-camp-admits-misspeak/

If you look at the article, the statement from Obamma’s spokesperson is in quotes. The part about Charlie Payne is from the reporter. It could be just another lazy reporter who did not do his research.

Depends on the meaning of "served with". < /s >

Here are a couple of links. Here is
one listing BHO family tree.
Post 36 of this
thread links all of the references including the Chicago Suntimes of the Obama family tree. The only Charles Payne shown in the family tree is "Charles W. Payne". These are two independent sources. The Kansas link shows W. Payne was in the navy.

A sub camp?
apparently there were 87 sub camps of the Buchenwald network. Some were 200 miles away. Ohrdruf was about 50.
Obamas people are making it seem that they were next door like Columbia and Bernard. More like the Pac 10 I'd say.
