Hey, I hear you! My favorite place is to camp on deserted southern Outer Banks islands. Flies, sand, mosquito hell sometimes but wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Around here, it’s the Sierras. I’ve only “beach camped” a few times—and years ago. Our beaches are too crowded: LA’s too nearby.
Of course that was before Black Power and identity politics made healthy youth activities too much like Whitey. Better to be gangbangers and shoot each other I guess.
Me too. Got a few trips planned this summer, car camping with the kids, backpacking and bikepacking with the girlfriend. But, I heard a line from Carlos Mencina (probably stolen) that really hit it on the head:
White people, how rich do you have to be to think a vacation is spending the week pretending you're poor?
I understand about crowded. I’m visiting my folks right now up in the NC mountains. We went for a drive today deep into my old stomping grounds in the National Forest. 30 years ago there might have been 1/2 dozen local families camping over 15 miles of old logging roads, today the place was full of campers, cyclists and hikers.
Got snarly looks from the oncoming cyclists, didn’t dawn on me until we were almost finished that we were putting out a massive dust cloud as we drove.
Yet another blackman finds whites really aren't all Klansmen, despite being told otherwise from an early age.
That Website is misnamed - it should be Things Liberals Like.
When I was taking my children to museums, historical sites, and zoos, black families were very few. I was saddened to see this again this past week at the Children’s Museum in Houston.
......This includes one Flying J. .......
Please illuminate this statement....
How do you know Flying J is not operating its travewl plazas? I am really interested in this and would love to hear all you know about Flying J and problems with high gas prices.
Flying J owns a refinery so seems to have a good chance.
Flying J is a rather large chain of gas and food truck stops found along the interstates. We look for the Flying Js because they have clean rest rooms, gas for the mini-van, diesel for the Volkswagen, room in the parking lot for a trailer, and food. We will also occasional park in their lot and sleep if we are especially tired.
The Loves truck stops are also very reliable.
I was very surprised to at the number of gas stations that were completely closed and out of business. Travel must be way down.
