Three-time melanoma survivor John McCain appears cancer-free, has a strong heart and is in otherwise general good health, according to eight years of medical records reviewed by The Associated Press.
"I do not see any worrisome lesions," Dr. Suzanne Connolly concluded after McCain's most recent exam, on May 12.
His likely Democratic rival, Barack Obama, will be 47 in August. Obama, lean and agile and a frequent basketball player, says he has quit smoking. Neither he nor Democratic opponent Hillary Rodham Clinton has released health records.
The details of McCain's health are contained in 1,173 pages of medical documents spanning 2000 to 2008 that his campaign made available to the AP to make the case that he's healthy enough to serve as president, as well as to counter the notion that he's too old. The Arizona senator will turn 72 in August and would be the oldest elected first-term president.

You can bet the AP will go over those records with a fine tooth comb and find about 50 concerns.
Now when will Michelle O's mental health records be released? (just a joke...hmmmmm)

Thank you, AP, for reminding the public about this, knowing full well that many in the public will see it as a cause for concern.

Wonder what's percolating in that congealed, block of cellulite called Clinton...

Well, it's worrisome that they only released eight years worth of records.
Apparently the medical records from his years of incarceration as a POW haven't been released. The senator blames it on shoddy Vietnamese record keeping.

Compare.
“appears” cancer-free (like use of quotes around terrorist)
v.
“Obama, lean and agile and a frequent basketball player,”
But notice, “Neither he nor Democratic opponent Hillary Rodham Clinton has released health records.”
The AP is the worst.

I frankly don’t care about medical records - you have to look at the gene pool to determine some of the history possible. McCain’s own mother is still living at 95, and he survived horrific prisoner treatment for 5 years - what does that tell you? I am more concerned why Hillary and Obama REFUSE to release ANY medical records. Who’s covering up now?

Neither he nor Democratic opponent Hillary Rodham Clinton has released health records. If memory serves, Bill Clinton never released his either. The rumor was that he had burned a hole in his nasal septum through chronic cocaine sniffing.

Obama, lean and agile and a frequent basketball player,While some say that McCain is remarkably lucid for a 72 year old...
...is expected to be sitting up in bed soon and taking solid food...
and appears quite spry for a septuagenarian...

Rush opened the show with this...he said some medical expert, age 72—one year older than McCain, reported to the Drive-Bys—well, yes, he is healthy BUT he could get dementia at any moment.

Perhaps it's time that presidential nominees submit to:
1) Drug testing
2) Intelligence testing
3) Achievement testing
The American public have a right to know how the candidates really compare.
I would love to see a question-and-answer session with a game show style format---Presidential Jeopardy---in which presidential candidates were surveyed on their knowledge of American and world history, the Constitution, world knowledge and current events. I think lots of people would tune it for that, and it would be quite educational.

“2) Intelligence testing”
Question #1: How many U.S. States are there?
Hillary: “48, my party does not count Michigan or Florida”
McCain: “50”
Obama: “Ha, Ha, Ha, you’re both wrong, there are 56...or is it 58?”

I seriously doubt any one of the candidates could really survive a comprehensive mental health exam.

I agree. When he gains some weight, I may believe it. Otherwise I believe he's still smoking something. He looks very sickly and unmasculine. Like someone who could easily just drop dead in his forties.

For 2 and 3, Obama would claim the tests are racist. For 1, he would claim racial profiling.
