BOSTON (AP) Sen. Edward Kennedy is pulling out of the commencement address at Wesleyan University after being diagnosed with brain cancer, and Barack Obama will stand in for him.
A spokeswoman for Kennedy said he had planned to speak at the Sunday ceremony in Middletown, Conn., where his stepdaughter will be among the graduates. The commencement exercises also coincide with 25th reunion festivities for his son Edward Kennedy Jr.
Kennedy was diagnosed this week with a malignant brain tumor, which was discovered after he had a seizure last Saturday. He was released Wednesday from Massachusetts General Hospital and has been recovering from a biopsy at the Kennedy family compound on Cape Cod.
Kennedy has endorsed Obama in his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Hmmm . .wonder if Obama is trying to be tied more closely with Kennedy to get the sympathy vote.
Ping. I may have to revise my post on political advantage.
“Sweet, dude! I got six tickets! Me and my family will just skip the graduation, I’ll scalp my tickets, and there’s two years of student loan payments right there!”
Is he going to have the Decemberists open for him again? Or maybe Bruce Springsteen sing a few tunes again? How about Johnny Cougar Melonhead?
“We will miss the penumbra cast by this great and large man, if it’s a sunny day.”

This Man has a inside connection someplace, and its not Heaven.
Like, why is this not surprising?
“its not Heaven”
I’m thinking an eternity standing in front of the sneeze-guard of the Sizzlin’ Sirloin salad bar.
Bag-pipe and accordian background Muzak. Forever.
Awesome video:
The same kind of terrorists who support Obama did this:

Never apologize for them.
Never appease them.
Never forget.
That’s gotta put a small sword in Kerry’s back!
I hope they have a teleprompter for him. Otherwise the stupid POS will start babbling with no idea what he is talking about.
That would make him the perfect stand-in for Captain Oldsmobile.
