Michael Yon on Iraq: “The progress is unbelievable”
Hot Air ^ | 5/22/08 | Allahpundit

“Why aren’t we hearing about this in the news?” asks Alisyn Camerota. Well, increasingly we are, most notably in the pages of the righty blogosphere’s favorite whipping boy. CNN traditionally has been good about reporting gains too, including having Yon himself on to explain them. As I write this, this story is beaming out to AP affiliates worldwide. The problem with the coverage is that it takes spectacular gains, like the Iraqi army rolling onto Mookie’s home turf in Sadr City, to break through the media narrative while even minor setbacks, which fit the narrative, are easily assimilated and thus coverage-worthy. How many spectacular gains will it take, I wonder, before the narrative itself starts to change. Presumably the answer is as many as it takes to warrant further troop reductions — in which case, behold.

Michael Yon on Iraq: “The progress is unbelievable”

Obama detests stories like this: he's scared that we might win the Iraq war before he gets his opportunity to lose it for us.

You know what, quite possibly the MSM is gearing up for a Barry Hussein’s White house that can tell the American people we have complete success there(of course under Barry’s tutelage) and thus we arent needed over there anymore. Of course I really appreciate all of the good news over ther though.

I occasionally put on CNN. Believe me, they are not good at reporting success. They have used that lying lunatic leftist Brit as their Iraq correspondent. He comes on and states that any reported improvement is not true.

The real story is the democrats were WRONG. As usual.

Michael Yon on Iraq:

Michael Yon is a straight shooter and tells it like it is - good, bad or ugly.

“The progress in Iraq is unbelievable.”

Democrats agree. In a way.

Obama will just spin Yon’s use of the word “unbelievable” and the MSM and the kids who support him would eat it up.

It is a little ironic, because Yon is quite bluntly critical of the Bush administration's early efforts in the war yet is widely dismissed as some sort of cheerleader by people who haven't read him.

We'll hear of success in Iraq only insofar as it serves to help Obama, and if it does not, we will not. At the moment the MSM is nearly monolithic on the topic. Heaven help us all if he does get in because it will make the early 90's Clinton lovefest seem like a funeral dirge by comparison.

I’ve nearly finished it, but I won’t tell you how it ends... ;)

I agree with you completely on “Moment of Truth in Iraq” by Michael Yon - it’s fantastic.

Freepers - order this book! You’ll be glad you did. It’s great reading, you’ll learn a lot, and best of all, you’ll be supporting a fine American who’s reporting the TRUTH in Iraq, on his own expense.

Wow, we better hurry up and leave Iraq before we end up winning the war over there. I don't know how any American could look at Obama and not laugh hysterically at his ridiculous Iraq policy. All the defeatist weaklings like Berry O are starting to look dumber by the day. Soon they will look like complete idiots when the media can no longer hide the truth about the war.

When the MSM's coverage of Iraq is minimal....YOU KNOW WE ARE WINNING!!

But according to democrats/liberals everywhere,,,,

there is still time for UNILATERAL SURRENDER!!!

If you believe that total capitulation is the 'way go to'--there is still time for Senator B. (whose middle name must NEVER be spoken) Obama to 'pull out of Iraq' and SNATCH DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY!

Ping :)

On the shore dimly seen thro’ the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
