Don't know if you ladies are into contemporary Christian music, but it *is* typically pro-family.
Prayers up for him, and his family, even though I think his music is trite.
Oh, how terribly sad.
I do listen to contemporary Christian music, a lot and I agree that some of it is trite. But I have listened to his new release Cinderella a couple of times because I have a 7 year old granddaughter who just recently told me that “grandma, I am so over princesses.” But she was sure into them at the age of 5, just like this little girl must have been and that song captures the magic of a daddy dancing with his little girl. I’m sure that they will be playing it today on the radio and I’m going to have to pull over in the car and cry.
I don’t know if I’ve ever heard this guy’s music.
What a terrible terrible thing to happen.
The brother will carry a heavy burden the rest of his life.
I hope the little girl didn’t suffer long.
Just horrible. Unspeakably horrible. The whole family slashed with a wound that will never be healed in this life. Prayers for all: especially the poor boy at the wheel.
I can see why some people aren’t big fans, but when he hits the mark, he hits it. “I’m Free,” “When You Are A Soldier” are musically and lyrically astounding, and the lyrical content in many of his songs is eloquent and real. Whether they’re Shakespeare or not, these lines from “I Will Go There With You” have always captured for me way a real man offers his strength to the woman he loves:
“I will take a heart whose nature
Is to beat for me alone
And fill it up with you
Make all your joy and pain my own”
I’d like to note that one of his albums has a song called “Maria.” It’s not about his daughter because it was written about 13 years before she was born, but I do wonder if it didn’t have something to do with her having that name.
