I hope these “parents” can’t find a doctor to mutilate this child. I suppose the’ll have to go overseas to have the vile deed done.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Apparently, proactive means the old trick of not notifying parents until the counseling sessions were practically a fait accompli.Sounds like typical school policy.

I think the whole of it is absurd. That said, if the parents really wanted a smooth transition for their son to become a girl in the 3rd grade, all they had to do is transfer him/her to a new school where the general population will not be predisposed to name calling and bullying.
Why put your son through such social stigma? 3rd grade boys are for the most part not even ready to explore their sexuality, much less make a lifelong decision regarding it. Most of them still think girls have cooties.
You make choices in your life and you live the consequences. This boy/girl is likely going to be the butt of every joke from now until high school graduation. It will adversely affect his studies, his social life, his safety/well being (both physical and mental). He will probably be made to feel miserable by his peers. All in all it’s just a bad idea.

They don’t want “children” making “childish comments”.

I suppose thell have to go overseas to have the vile deed done.Yes, most of this surgery has moved to Thailand, because there is a very strong probability that performing it in the US will expose the facility and the surgeon(s) to medical malpractice liability.
Since Johns Hopkins closed their clinic, it has become an increasingly rare procedure.
