Michelle Vetoes Hillary

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Close-in supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign are convinced he never will offer the vice presidential nomination to Sen. Hillary Clinton for one overriding reason: Michelle Obama.

The Democratic front-runner's wife did not comment on other rival candidates for the party's nomination, but she has been sniping at Clinton since last summer. According to Obama sources, those public utterances do not reveal the extent of her hostility.

A footnote: Support is growing in Democratic ranks for Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland as vice president. He would bring to the ticket maturity (66 years old), experience (six terms in Congress) and moderation (rated "A" by the National Rifle Association). He is very popular in Ohio, a state Republicans must carry to elect a president.

As previously predicted by this poster, Ted Strickland of Ohio is likely to be the Democratic VP nominee. McCain should counter with a woman, to attract disappointed Hillary Clinton supporters.

Strickland if he can deliver the anti-Obama white vote, would be a good choice for the tax Bambi.

A woman for McCain would be the perfect pander moment to the mindless women out there who feel a vote for their genitalia is a reasoned decision.

Is Libby Dole still available?

LOL,

No, but at least she is smart enough to know what would happen if hillary was really only a heat beat from the oval office.

I was talking to my wife last about this very subject.

It seems to me that Obama would be nuts to have Hillary as his VP. Two words:

Vince Foster

Well, first smart thing I’ve heard Michelle say.

From a political point of view, hillary would have needed Obama as her VP if she won the nomination, but Obama certainly doesn’t need her.

What states would she win for him? She doesn’t really even have a home state any more, she has claimed association with so many of them.

Ted Strickland is just the sort of person he needs to choose: to reassure blue collar workers, and to gain electoral votes from a key state.

I would think that Pennsylvania and Ohio may be key states.

Is there any doubt Michelle has Barack firmly under her thumb?

Since Jeane Kirkpatrick is unfortunately dead, can you think of any conservative Republican women with a national reputation who might take the job? (I believe Ann Coulter has said she's not even voting for McCain.)

Strickland’s attorney general is currently embroiled in a huge set of scandals and Strickland is doing a dance to try to get him to resign. I’m not sure if the governor’s image will be tarnished, but it certainly isn’t going to help him.

Probably someone McCain is comfortable with — like someone from the “Gang of 14” — Olympia Snowe. Unfortunately no conservative, but would bring both geographic and gender diversity to the ticket.

If Obama's stupid enough to select Hillary as VP, he's not smart enough to be President. On this one, Michelle's right.

She really does have him on a short leash.

What? The propane guy?

Ummmm, the American people are a little tired of the women who’s been running. That would carry over. McCain doesn’t need a “pander” - he needs a conservative.

Hitlery wouldn't take the VP offer in any case. She's now positioning herself to run in 2012, since she's (apparently) lost this year.

There is no example of a sitting VP running against a sitting president in the history of the US. No way, Jose.

Look for all sorts of subtle (and perhaps not so subtle) sabotage of Osamabama's campaign by Hitlery's minions.
