McCain jokes about rivals with comedian Jon Stewart

NEW YORK -- Of the Democratic presidential candidates, would Republican John McCain rather take on Barack Obama or Hillary Rodham Clinton?

"You know, Ron Paul is still in the race," McCain joked Wednesday during a taping of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."

McCain deadpanned about the marathon race between the Democrats: "I hate to watch it. It's terrible. My heart goes out to them."

During the taping, McCain pretended to walk off the set when Stewart pressed him on whether President Bush is more of a liability for him than the Rev. Jeremiah Wright is for Obama. Then McCain fiddled with his microphone and mouthed "technical difficulties" into the camera.

The all-but-certain Republican nominee did reveal a few tidbits. His Secret Service code name, he thinks, "is 'jerk,'" and his choice for a vice presidential running mate is Dwight Schrute, a character on the NBC sitcom, "The Office," played by Rainn Wilson.

From same article: Comedy aside, McCain used the opportunity to challenge Obama, who moved a step closer to claiming the Democratic nomination after Tuesday's primaries in Indiana and North Carolina. Stewart asked whether McCain really believed the Islamic terrorist group Hamas had endorsed Obama. McCain's campaign issued a fundraising letter after a Hamas adviser, Ahmed Yousef, said the group likes Obama.

"It's indicative of how some of our enemies view America," McCain said. "And I guarantee you, they're not going to endorse me."

Off camera, Obama's campaign said McCain should apologize for "repeating tired and divisive attacks about Barack Obama that he knows are flat-out untrue."

The Hamas Endorsement of Obama:

During an interview on WABC radio Sunday, top Hamas political adviser Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group supports Obama’s foreign policy vision. “We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance,” Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential candidates.

My prediction.... The media has built this false sense of security around McCain knowing that he has a hot temper. They will continue it until the dem candidate is decided. Then like a lottery the media will confront McCain trying to get him to explode on camera. The outlet that does it wins the lottery.

LOL. McCain's comment was 100% factual, which means this attack from Obama is a divisive attack which Obama knows is flat-out untrue.

I don't get that at all, I feel the media has created a false sense of security around Obama. How else can you explain, how a man who is a one term senator, whose past is linked with Moslems, and who is endorsed by Hamas , and whose pastor of 20 years promotes the enemies of America, can be nominated for President of the United States?

All the thin-skinned Obama & Wife have done in the primary is accuse others of being “divisive” and lying about their oh-so-oure selves, and it’s what they’re going to do in the GE. He won’t offer anything more than some vague “hope and unity”, never addresses, much less brings up, any concrete issues. And it’s only a taste of how he’s going to run against McCain in the GE, and he will get away with it, by either implying or outright stating that any questions about him, his associates, his “positions” (does he really have any?) or anything else are “racist” attacks. I have yet to see any reason that McCain is the person to call him on this and not let him get away with it. Obama and his bitter whiney wife are pretending that they are “above” it all, and deserve to never be questioned about anything at all, merely worshipped for their “uniting and hopeful” rhetoric. I’ve never seen anything like it, and I hope that someone who speaks for the GOP is smart enough to call them on it in such a way as to not allow them to throw out that tired old race card again. If he can’t stand being legitimately questioned about his stances (if he really has any), then he has no business running for leader of the free world, where his positions matter above all. It’s too bad Tony Blankley isn’t being more vocal, he is expert at pointing out that the emperor has no clothes in such an articulate way as to leave no room for any race-baiting shenanigans.

Doncha know this is going to work, already??

ANYTHING that might even remotely be construed as negative toward Obama will be met by large groups screaming “You’re a RACIST!!!”

I don’t think Obama can play a race card on every issue with McCain, eventually the issues will have to be addressed. Let’s just hope somone runs the debates other than CNN.

His temper? That’s one of his best qualities.

I’m not planning on casting a POTUS vote, but if he went nuclear on camera and put these idiots in there place, I mean, just humiliates them, I’d pull the lever for him.

While we are at war with terrorism, I see us involved in a bigger war against the liberal combo solicalist/marxist DNC.

The you would be wrong...

Dean is already planning for Obama to ride the “Race Card Express!” all the way to november.

And given that the support of the Clinton-Controlled 527’s will be soft, at best, they see it as the ticket to an undefeatable candidate, regardless of the Demographics he’s NOT getting...

“Dean is already planning for Obama to ride the “Race Card Express!” all the way to november”.

...and that will be Obama’s downfall. Even the “guilty white” voters are going to get tired of all the race pimp BS from Obama, Sharpton and Jackson.

Besides his past service to our country, his temper is the only thing I like about McCain.

If only he would use it against our enemies, and not against us.

(Sigh)

Our candidate, John McCain, the ONLY anti-terrorist candidate in the race, goes on Comedy Central because it is the only chance to speak to certain demographics of OUR country. They will vote. If he wants the chance to lead the country and the battle against those who hate our country then he must try to speak to them.

It is not an endorsement of Comedy Central, it is an attempt to speak to their audience and seek their vote in the general election.

The Dems have been trying to get McCain to explode on camera for a while, now. (Remember the C word episode?). McCain isn’t taking the bait and they will get more and more outrageous and desperate. This will result in the media looking even more childish and despicable, if such a thing is possible.

The best way they can reach the average “American Idol” voter is to jettison any dignity they might have once posessed and appear as the freaks they are on these side shows.

I guarantee you that 99.9% of the Comedy Central audience will vote OBAMA...including Jon Stewart. You can tell by the reception each cadidate receives.
