It is my profound honor, and undeserved privilege, to present this months featured Patriot of the Month at the Thompson Coalition. It has been a blessing to have conversed on two occasions, through email, with Lieutenant Colonel Allen B. West (US Army, Ret). In reading candidate West’s emails, reviewing his web site, and reading articles about this contemporary American hero, I feel a sense of profound gratitude. I struggle to put into words how this man of strength, conviction, and humbleness has touched my life from three thousand miles away. His words and sincerity stir me to strive at being a better man. Allen West possesses every quality of a true Patriot and a leader among men.

This is an EXTRAORDINARY man (West). I’ve been following him since his service in Iraq- he’s so unusual - I hope he goes far in politics. I even contributed to his campaign (though I’m not in his district here in Florida)!

Did Fred write this? I don’t see his signature at the site.

My plan is to write in Fred. McCain has done nothing to this point to change my mind. McCain being McCain, I don’t think he’ll do anything between now and November that will convince me to reconsider.

A year ago it was exciting to think I might have an opportunity to actually vote for a candidate instead of against the other guy. At this point I'd happily settle for even that as an option. With McCain as the presumptive nominee a write in is the only option my conscience can stomach.
