I’m as hard on crime as anyone but, frankly, if I were the Governor of Michigan, I’d give this woman a pardon or commutation. Do we really want to send a fifty-something mother to jail for a decade or more over three and a half decade old drug charges? I don’t.

Me either, especially considering the fact that she was 19 at the time. I don't know about you, but I was pretty stupid at 19. I wouldn't have been dealing drugs but, considering the way I used to drive, I'm fortunate that I never killed anyone accidentally.

A few years of community service should suffice.
