The left, the Democrats, and soldier death porn

In addition to the "100 years" lie, the DNC ad in question also shows a serious lack of respect to our servicemen and women by showing imagery of some of them blowing up:

The Democratic National Committee has sparked outrage among veterans and others across the internet by running an anti-John McCain ad that shows U.S. soldiers being blown up.

After the new ad’s voice-over castigated McCain for suggesting that the United States may stay in Iraq for “maybe 100” years, the footage becomes shocking.

The DNC ad then shows an explosive device detonating near two soldiers standing beside a palm tree. The two soldiers disappear in an explosive fireball. The video also shows images of burning vehicles.

The use of soldier death porn is a staple on the left. At a rally I covered in 2007, for example, I took the following photo:

And then, of course, there's crap like this:

And most everyone saw this:

There are, of course, tons more of these out there.

They like to use these sorts of images and imagery as a political cudgel. They also think it gives them political inoculation against charges of lack of patriotism. Of course, in the process, they demonstrate their contempt for the soldiers, thus proving what they are trying to deny.

And it's interesting to note that a picture i took at a hard-left rally in Los Angeles and a DNC ad have so much in common. Hmm...
