Yes, it is your parent’s country. Don’t for a minute assume that the left is any more virulent today than it was in World War II.

The left pretends it used to be patriotic, but it has never been patriotic. In World War II, after the initial spat in the Aleutian Islands, the Aleutians became a dumping ground for leftist moonbats and “unreliables” from all branches of the service.

Oh yes, they did “serve”, because there were few exemptions. But do not confuse this in any way with patriotism. They either served, or they spent four years in a federal penitentiary.

Before WWII, the left worked in lock step with Lenin and Stalin. At first, they opposed Hitler, because he was not a communist. But when Germany and the Soviet Union signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop Non-aggression Pact, suddenly the radical left was filled with love for the Fuhrer. Then, when Germany invaded Russia, the left did another 180 and hated Hitler again. At no time did they give a damn for America, except for trying to turn it into another communist nation.

And don’t even get your hopes up about the patriotism of the “moderate” left, those who could and can be derisively called Mensheviks:

“What we were doing in this country were some of
the things that were being done in Russia and even
some of the things that were being done under
Hitler in Germany. But we were doing them in an
orderly way.”
— President Franklin D. Roosevelt

The “moderate” left of the New Deal admired and tried out all sorts of National Socialist economic schemes. They were also not averse to other fascist programs, favoring them over American constitutional law, which they saw as failed doctrine. Democratic party officials became de facto political officers, what the Russians called “Zampolits”, whose power derived from dispersing federal money to those who would obey them.

One cannot use the constitution as a rag, then claim any pretense to patriotism. Just as with the left today, they claim to “love” the United States, but this doesn’t mean they love the US they live in today. They only “love” the US that has been changed, perverted, corrupted, and to a great extent destroyed, in the fulfillment of their schemes.

A US in the evil, awful, and grotesque future they desire.

A US of the future that is utterly dominated by the left. That is the only US they love.

My kids and I thank every soldier and veteran we come across. The soldiers we thank alway show appreciation...most of the vets do too...but there is the occasional one who throws a temper fit about how they are not proud of what they did, and how the soldiers of today should be ashamed of themselves.

I just shake my head, remind them that it was their service and that of today’s soldiers that assures them the right to express that opinion and walk away from them.

I don’t agree. In my parents day people were locked up for committing assault and battery at events such as this. Today people one one side are given a free pass for this behavior, but those of us who counter protest these moonbats are held to a different standard.
