New York, NY (LifeNews.com) -- Pope Benedict XVI closed out his visit to the United States over the weekend with a strong pro-life message on the topic of abortion. The homily came after sharing his pro-life views with President Bush and a White House crowd and then urging Catholic Colleges not to give a platform to abortion advocates.
During the sermon at Yankee Stadium in New York, the pope proclaimed the "inalienable dignity and rights" of "the most defenseless of all human beings, the unborn child in the mother's womb."
He called on pro-life advocates to stand up for "those without a voice" and to "enrich American society and culture with the beauty and truth of" the pro-life message.
The pontiff also praised the work of the Catholic Church and bishops in the United States, saying, "the Catholic community in this nation has been outstanding in its prophetic witness in the defense of life."
Pope Benedict also called on Catholics to reject the notion that pro-life views shouldn't be a part of politics.
He said being a pro-life Catholic "means rejecting a false dichotomy between faith and political life."
The pope also said that, for Christians, there is a truth in understanding the value of human life and that they have an obligation to share that truth with the nation and the world.
"They are the truths which alone can guarantee respect for the inalienable dignity and rights of each man, woman and child in our world - including the most defenseless of all human beings, the unborn child in the mother's womb," he said.
He said he hopes pro-life people will "never [lose] sight of that great hope which gives meaning and value to all the other hopes which inspire our lives."
Perfect!

Good timing your excellency...
Viva il Papa!!
BTW ... I'm in PA., and tomorrow I write Alan in. (considering the 'race' we have going ... let's show support for our favorites ... Keyes, Hunter, Paul, etc.)
Tomorrow's promary vote doesn't matter ... unless you're a socialist or an uber socialist.
I love Alan Keyes, but he doesn’t seem to have a place in electoral politics. His campaigns - like the one he waged as a carpetbagger in IL vs Oscumma - just haven’t gained any traction. I’d like to see him get appointed to a good post in a McCain administration. I think Keyes is brilliant, and a solid constiutionalist conservative. But he just doesn’t get people to vote for him when he runs for anything.
I think he saw Obama for what he was/is, and suspected the dirty tricks he got.
As has been said by someone before ... in politics ... nothing is an accident ... it is all choreographed.
I think Obama was just getting out of the blocks in his official grooming by ... dare I say? .. the x42's. They wanted Obama and they got him.
I think Alan was set up and made to be the ineffectual politician .. hoping (planning?) that it would damage him forever.
I'm still writin' him in.
As a man of his we can expect Pelosi and Kennedy to be excommunicated post haste!
“... it is all choreographed.”
Nah. If i thought that was the case, why bother?
I loved it when they panned the crowd. Half of them were cheering and the other half were glum Hilary-supporters, arms crossed, mad as hornets. As if it were a big surprise that the Catholic Church believes that.

Is Ambassador Keyes also the head of a 1 billion plus member church?
Anyone witness to murder has the obligation to select the perpetrator in a line-up.
Thank you Pope Benedict!
