Dr. Paul has praised non-violent civil disobedience as an honorable and effective means of dealing with runaway federal power, including taxation. You should, nevertheless, know what you're doing and count the cost before you begin.
Taxpayer or Non-Taxpayer?
Has such a question ever even occurred to you? Have you even heard of a "nontaxpayer" before? Wouldn't it be unpatriotic not to "pay your taxes" like everyone else?
Taxpayer? Nontaxpayer? Which are you? Is there an unequivocal reason that you "voluntarily comply" with the world's most obscure, deceptive, and fraudulently administered tax law, Title 26 of the US Code? Are YOU [fill in your name here] "made liable" for an income tax by some specific activity or circumstance, clearly stated in that book of law, or do you pay tax just because "everybody else does?"
Can you name the statute and section that makes you liable? Would the IRS produce it for you if you were to ask? If you think that they would, just try asking them sometime! You will soon find out that the IRS is not interested in what the law says or means - their only purpose is to take your money, and shame on you for even asking such a "frivolous" question!
As a matter of fact, the average working American is not liable under Title 26 for any "income tax". Don't you consider such a claim worth at least investigating? And Ron Paul, known as "The Taxpayer's Best Friend," has suggested that the true patriot does not mindlessly "comply" with oppressive state demands, despite possible consequences:

There are lots of “tax protestors” in orange jumpsuits that I am guessing wished they had taken a different path when that thought crossed their mind.
I hate paying taxes but damnit, if I have to then so do you so have a Coke and a smile and STFU.

No one is a match for the IRS. This is not a good idea.
Whatever the text says, the courts have always ruled that they are.

You know, this kind of reminds of the mullahs who encourage the OTHER men in the Mosque to martyr themselves for the cause. They, of course, are way too important t lose.

Riffing on the mullah comment, I’d have more respect for Mr. Paul if he followed his own hinted-ad advice. Does he pay his taxes, or refuse to pay on moral grounds?
An easy way to make non taxpayers (poor people) pay at least some tax: Institute a national lottery.
My personal opinion is that this would be "patriotically neutral" if that makes any sense at all. I'm on the up-and-up with my taxes, but I really have no problem whatsoever with tax cheats. I'd be a hypocrite being that I own a few weapons that are not at all legal in my state. I don't look at myself as "an proudly armed patriot" or anything like that, but I at the same time feel no moral remorse whatsoever for owning these.
In Florida we refer to the Lottery as the RRP (Redneck Retirement Plan)
I REALLY wish this were authorized in the Constitution, as it is a great idea. The lotteries as they are now are a state tax on the stupid; to have the dopey people pick up a share of my federal taxes as well would rock.
