Everythings going up; this whole valleys going up, Basalt resident Michael Mooney, reported from a ridge to the south of Garfield County Road 100 at 2:45 p.m.
Upwind of the flames and well out of the danger area, Mooney was in awe of the size of the fire and said every few minutes the flames would erupt in huge orange bursts.
This is unbelievable, Mooney said.

Well, I knew it couldn’t be Carbondale, IL as wet as it’s been around here.
The warm weather and winds are the “warm before the storm.” Cool weather and moisture should move in tonight.
Brush’s fault!
I guess they put it out just as it approached some guy's front door.
Close call....
There must be more than one Carbondale.
Was it greendale before the fire?
Hope somebody can turn them into hot links for me?
Thanks...

We were driving down 115 after the Ft Carson fire and saw a bald Coyote run across the road. Must have had all his hair burned off.
