There would seem to be four distinct, major problems with Obama's "cling" gaffe.
1) It lumps together things Obama wants us to think he thinks are good (religion) with things he undoubtedly thinks are bad (racism, anti-immigrant sentiment). I suppose it's logically possible to say 'these Pennsylvania voters are so bitter and frustrated that they cling to both good things and bad things," but the implication is that these are all things he thinks are unfortunate...
2) Even if Obama wasn't equating anything on his list with anything else, he did openly accuse Pennsylvanians of being racists ...
3) He's contradicted his own positions--at least on trade and ... guns...
4) Yes, he's condescending. ...
Please note that Obama's characterization of Pennsylvanians as "bitter" doesn't even make the top four.

Obama is a neo-Marxist so he believes what matters most in people’s lives is economics, not values. Therefore people “cling” to religion and guns, and oppose illegal immigration, not because they value a releationship with their creator, their fundamental right to self-defense, and American culture and sovereignty, but because they can’t get a good job. If they weren’t so bitte and stupid they would see that the Democrats will give them more stuff, and vote for them. But the Republicans use all those phoney values issues to distract them from the “real issues”.

Barak Obama is a Trojan Horse enemy of America - that’s what’s wrong with him. His outside is superficially attractive, but the horse harbors an armory of destructive forces that are ready to emerge once the gift horse would be accepted by the people and brought inside the gates on the White House.
Barack is a liberal and that is what is wrong with him. He like most liberals think that those who don’t agree with them just haven’t thought enough on it. The idea that someone may disagree with them based on independent analysis is a foreign idea to them. Even more is that idea that their ideas should have to compete with others who they see as inferior. That is why they attempt to cast their arguments in terms that isolate those who disagree with them as being “out of the mainstream” and cast their own beliefs as the “consensus”. Most of the time the left is just outright lying when they make such statements because most of the time they start out with what are extreme minority positions that even today can not win the day on the strength of the arguments usually if anything it is the weakness and vagueness of their arguments that allows them to even survive scrutiny.
Barack will not lose because he is black it will be because he is one of the most openly liberal candidates we’ve seen since McGovern.
I agree, they are purposely focusing on “bitter” which realluy isn’t that big of a deal, and occasionally mention the perennial charges of clinging to guns, and Bible thumpin rubes...But there’s almost a blackout on the fact that he basically called Small Town America: bigoted, racist, and xenophobic as well.
