Two of Sen. John McCain's top advisers and fundraisers are among several Republican and Democratic presidential campaign officials whose lobbying firms have been paid more than $15 million by foreign governments since 2005.
The firms of McCain senior adviser Charlie Black, who until recently was the chairman of Washington-based BKSH & Associates, and campaign co-chairman Thomas G. Loeffler, who heads the Loeffler Group in San Antonio, received millions of dollars lobbying the White House, Congress and others as agents of nearly a dozen foreign clients in recent years.

The lobbying efforts came at a time Congress and the White House were debating comprehensive immigration-reform legislation, which was defeated in June. Then-President Vicente Fox was an outspoken critic of the proposed legislation.
Mr. Black and Mr. Loeffler also are listed by Mr. McCain's campaign Web site as bundlers, expected to collect thousands of dollars in donations from several sources to bypass federal election laws limiting individual contributors to a $2,300 maximum donation.

I am not surprised when politicians are a little sleazy, but getting amnesty money is beyond the pale.

Total nonsense to say free countries do not close their doors. If a country wants to survive, it has to protect its borders. To protect the freedom of its citizens, a country needs to oppose suicidal open borders policy of admitting terrorist, drug dealers, pedophiles, Russian Mafia, people carrying dangerous contagious disease, and any riffraff that wants to enter it. In my area, our freedom has been diminishing by the activities of foreign terrorists, MS13, and other illegal aliens.
Agreed. While no one can argue that immigration can be good, never before in history has a nation's leaders not only turned a blind eye to foreign invaders but warmly welcomed them with tax-payer funded food, housing, medical care and education for their children.
And, the only thing worse than illegal aliens demanding that a nation change its laws to accomadate their wishes and aspirations is that nation's "leaders" bravely trying to surrender to the invaders' demands.

These are connections (and payments) already revealed, via legally-required paperwork handed over to the FEC. There’s no need to “ask” for confirmation as to (say) whether or not McCain adviser Rob Allyn accepted $720,000.00 for the task of advancing the cause of amnesty for illegal aliens; in this instance (as well as the others cited in the article in question), no one’s denying Word One.
Hah, McCain has anyone that asks him about illegal immigration ejected from the room.
He refuses to answer any questions about his support for the Mexican government and his support for the reconquista of the western US.
Guess Juan must be getting something from south of the border.

Thanks for the ping. It’s rather pointeless to point out any problems with McCain though. Remember in 1996 how would we couldn’t figure out why any Democrat would vote for a guy like Clinton with all his baggage. Well, I have met the enemy and his is us. Our team is doing the same damned brain dead thing in 2008.
McCain could have a shot four children dead and been caught while finishing the last one off, and this bunch would vote for him, and explain that it wasn’t such a bad thing when you think about it.
No matter what John has done, Clinton or Obama would be worse. End of story.

Me, I’m voting for conservatives downticket, and simply leaving the top space on the ballot blank.
I’m writing in a conservative in the top (Duncan Hunter). I think that will make more of an impact.
If I don't write in Lou Barletta's or Duncan Hunter's name, I'll be voting third party. I will not make a farce of the election by voting for Juan MacCain.
