ONLY poll and trend that would matter is 3 days before the Genereal Election. Untill then you would see plus-minus-10-15 points swings in either nominees’ ratings.

If 3 days before general election, the difference is less than 5% and whoever is TRENDING UP, doesn’t matter they are ahead on or behind, they would at least take the Popular vote.

This Election cycle, both Dems can and will take the Popular vote. Of that I have NO DOUBT.

If Hillary is the nominee, she would COAST to victory. She would destroy McCain, demonize Conservatives, Scare Minorities into supporting her, lie, cheat, commit fraud and win EASILY. With her as the nominee, John McCAin will NOT flip a single Blue State to Red Column. Meanwhile she WILL at the very least flip Arkansas, Iowa, New Mexico and Ohio. The fragile Electoral-Tie that we have at the present, Hildabeast would rip it apart.

If Obama is the nominee, he may end up being Gored. He could inspire popular vote win, but still be defeated in a Electoral Landslide. He can not and WILL NOT carry Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Come to think of it, Obama’ popular vote win and Electoral vote landslide defeat could end up sparking an ANTI-EV-SYSTEM movement. Specially since the African American and Youth would feel it was stolen from them. Riots, Protests, combined with GIANT DEM MAJORITY in Congress could really spell trouble for Electoral Collge.

I’m working hard to elect McCain — and conservative Republicans up and down the ticket.

Give it time, folks. Most polls show it an absolute dead-heat. Conventional wisdom suggests that McCain should be 20 points down and he’s doing pretty well. Let’s not get discouraged and the interesting news is that Hillary is recovering her lead in Pennsylvania, too, meaning the Dem race is likely to never end. I believe John McCain will be the next President of the United States.

Best of luck with those two wildly contradictory impulses.

Hey, Man. I may not like Juan McCastro, but he is faaar better than what the race-baiters are putting up. As a matter of fact, I already purchased a nose plug at the 100 yen store; to cast my vote for Mr. Openboarders. I guess the war on terror still means something to me, though.

"You kicked the conservatives to the curb and nominated your RINO, now all you gotta do is get him elected."

This man says it best.

I guess conservatism still means something to me, though.

If you put Obama head-to-head with McCain I would expect McCain to win.

At this point Obama would need to have something besides “hope” and “change.”

These polls went all over the place before September-October 2004. Then they started leaning towards Bush.

Never discount the “Bradley factor” when analyzing Obama/McCain polling.

The Dem party leaders could have told their friends in the media to play the Jeremiah Wright controversy for all it’s worth in order to stop Obama in his tracks and put Hillary over the top, so that they’d have the candidate who would have the best shot of winning in November. But they can’t do that, because the Blacks and the White lefties who support Obama would accuse the media of trying to destroy Obama, and these people would stay home in November.

The problem for the Dems is that Wright’s hateful remarks just aren’t that offensive to many Dem voters. So the amount of press that the Wright controversy has received just isn’t enough to radically alter the outcome of the remaining primaries in Hillary’s favor. And like I said, if the press piles on in order to scare Dem voters in the remaining primaries into flocking towards Hillary in really big numbers, there would be hell to pay.

So the Dems are stuck with Obama, even they know (the party bigwigs, at least) that Hillary would be the stronger candidate in light of Rev. Wright, Black Liberation Theology, James Meeks, William Ayers, Raila Odinga, etc.
And they’ll be bracing themselves for all the anti-Obama ads on TV, radio, the internet, plus all the anti-Obama books that will hopefully be coming out once he secures the nomination, which will prominently feature Wright, etc, etc.

The template from both the DNC and the MSM will be to respond to these ads and books with cries of “racism, racism, racism”. Will they succeed in shaming swing voters not to listen to these “hateful” ads and “hateful” books. No way, but it’s all they’ve got.

They’re stuck, and they’ve got no choice but to roll the dice and hope for the best. And to think that they thought that this election would be a cakewalk.

Frankly, I can’t wait for the cries of “racism” to begin. I’m pumped!
