KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Is Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice campaigning to be John McCain’s running mate? If so, Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said on Sunday that he had not noticed.

.

“I missed those signals,” Mr. McCain told reporters on his campaign plane en route to Kansas City.

Nonetheless, Mr. McCain took a few moments to compliment Ms. Rice. “I think she’s a great American, I think there’s very little that I can say that isn’t anything but the utmost praise for a great American citizen, who served as a role model to so many millions of people in this country and around the world,” Mr. McCain said, adding that “her overall record is very, very meritorious.”

A vote for Rice is a vote for a Rev. Wright cool-aid drinker.

I’m not wild about Rice’s stands on abortion and such, but it certainly would be fun to watch the Demos try to deal it, wouldn’t it?

I’m really tired of seeing every conservative on this site smeared as being “pro-Obama” if they don’t support the RINO McCain. It’s entirely possible to be anti-Obama, anti-Clinton, and anti-McCain, all at the same time. Some of us think we’re screwed - more-or-less equally screwed - regardless of which of the three wins.

“I am wild about your pro-Obama strategy.”

Up until this point, Rice wasn't part of any body's strategy

No. A vote for Obama is a vote for a Rev. Wright cool-aid drinker. A vote for Rice is a vote for a continuation of Bush's foreign policy, for good or for bad.

In most areas, thats good. In Israel, she (and Bush) seem to have caught State disease. I hope McCain is better.

I also like Condi. I say McCain Rice-aroni ticket would be a deep six for sure to Clinton or Obama.

And besides, it would be great to see Condi move up in 4 years to be president.Condi is actually a genius, and shes also pro NRA.

McCain / Rice....sounds quite......Nice.

She may well be the strongest Second Amendment supporter to run for president in decades.

more-or-less equally screwed - regardless of which of the three wins.

Its the more or less where I part ways with you.

McCain is good on the WOT, good on spending, and he is not a socialist.

I consider those to be significant distinctions.

Well, the funniest part of it would be that Condi would satisfy the whole woman/black thing in one swoop.

I don’t buy this though because if McCain did select Condi, at the end of his second term (if he won and chose to run again and won), then Condi would be the likely candidate and I’m not sure she’s presidential material. I like her but not that much.

One RINO on the ticket is bad enough. Two will be deadly.
