BERLIN: The Israeli Embassy in Berlin says Defense Minister Ehud Barak has canceled his trip next week to Germany.
Embassy spokesman Aaron Segui says the cancellation was apparently due to tensions on the northern Israeli border.
Recent attacks and retaliation threats have raised fears in the Middle East of a possible new round of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
The embassy on Thursday morning said no new date for a visit has been set.

It would be nice to think that this time, the IDF will send as many Hezbullocks terrorists on to their 72 virgins and big buffet table as possible.
Of course that would be more likely if the current numnutz of a PM (Olmert) was returned to his duties of sweeping the floors and a REAL leader (Netanyahu) was back at the helm.

You are not going to have a repeat of the last war..... Ehud Barak is a warrior....granted a lefty one....but a warrior....he knows the stakes.
lot of mixed signals out of Israel today - yesterday their were multiple defense sources claiming all sorts of stuff (Syrian mobilization, calling up of reserves, Iranian listening posts, Hezbollah retaliation, etc)
Today a number of Israeli officials come out and say all this tension with Syria is artificiald . . . seems they can’t get on the same page
Netanyahu is as bad as the rest of them. Maybe worse, since he fools many Israelis into a false sense of security.
