If you think I am patting myself on my back you are sorely mistaken.
FreeRepublic has been sued before and it cost this site a lot of money. I don’t want to see it happen again.

Sad but true. Do you think that pookie will pay the legal bills the next time FR gets sued? He posts from sites that have asked that not be posted at FR and sites that want excerpts only. A cartoon is not an excerpt.

Thanks for all the chuckles.
So sorry you won’t be posting your toons anymore.
Amazing this is coming up after so many years......and one troublemaker !

Sad, true.
But just between you and me, how many times has FR been sued over Pookie’s ‘toons?
Threatened to be sued over Pookie’s ‘toons?

He doesn’t have to stop, he was asked to respect copyright restrictions. Jim sent him this today:
Unless you prove to me that you have written permission from the copyright holders on all cartoons or other materials posted from the sites that have notified us not to allow materials from their sites/publications to be posted to FR, you cannot post them here. The moderators have removed several violations from this thread. We do not want to spend the time necessary to edit your threads for copyright violations. Either you comply and cease posting copyright violations or you can move your thread to some other website.
And if you give me or the moderators a hard time about this, I will simply remove your posting privileges and that will be the end of it.
Thanks,
Jim

Neither do I. I love this site. I've been a proud member of it since 2000. I know there are those who wish us harm and have us in the bullseye, and I understand Jim's reasoning.
OTOH, I don't know of one time in Pookie's four year's worth of postings that anyone has ever threatened to sue FR over anything he's done.
Today's Toons have brought a lot of laughter and camaraderie to FR, and it's just a damned shame to see that go, that's all.
To: Admin Moderator
I didn't say he had to. I see he decided to avoid causing Jim and FR conflicts. Very good of him to comply willingly. I just wanted to say thanks.
Are you a little touchy?

Very good of him to comply willingly He hasn't complied willingly, instead, he called out his troops to argue that he's done nothing wrong.
FreeRepublic cannot afford another lawsuit.
To: Admin Moderator
I am not “his troops”. I read the posts sometimes. So I posted a thanks.
I don’t care to get drug into this if there is some drama I don’t know about. By you or any other poster.
Thanks.

No one called me out. I just happen to be someone who looks at Today's 'toons pretty much every day with my morning coffee.
I was responding to someone whose handle is Jean S, and then all of a sudden Admin Moderators are riding the thread. WTF, over.
