While Democrats are still fighting about whether and how Michigans delegates will be seated at their partys national convention, early polling suggests that John McCain could be very competitive in the state when voters go to the polls in November.
The latest Rasmussen Reports poll in Michigan shows McCain attracting 43% of the vote when matched against Barack Obama. Obama earns 42% while 8% say they would vote for a third-party candidate and 7% remain undecided.
If Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee, its McCain 45% Clinton 42%. In that match-up, 10% opt for a third-party candidate while 4% are undecided.
McCain is viewed favorably by 55% of the states voters. Obama earns positive reviews from 50%, Clinton from 47%. The Republican hopeful leads both Democrats among unaffiliated voters and also benefits from solid Republican support.

Thanks for pinging me to the McCain vs. Obama/Clinton polling results. It helps me put the weekly InTrade results into perspective.
No problem!
Do you agree or disagree?
This is impressive news. It’s important to know that Bush won 48% in Michigan in 2004.
Right now she is the weaker candidate. However Obama has a very radical record that we haven’t begun to touch with a 10-foot pole, while Hillary is generally pretty well known (just disliked). It’s inevitable that his record will come out though; pro-kindergarten sex-ed, pro-early release for criminal sex offenders, among other unsavory bits. It will hurt him enormously among independents. Hillary also turns Arkansas and West Virginia into swing states, while Obama turns Pennsylvania into one. She also polls better in Ohio and Missouri.
LOL, I got Kuksool already. :-)
As optimistic as I am, I didn’t see Mccain winning in Michigan. This will be a blood bath at the top of the ticket. The rat thinks all will be well if he can only get the nomination settled. He is living in his own lies as usual, where all liberals live.
To put Michigan in perspective it’s worth pointing out that McCain trailed both by double digits late last year. This state is very winnable, especially if Hillary can go to the convention and force Obama to disenfranchise the state.
Nearly caught up!
