Watergate-Era Judiciary Chief of Staff: Hillary Clinton Fired For Lies, Unethical Behavior
North Star Writers Group ^ | March 31, 2008 | Dan Calabrese

Posted on 03/31/2008 5:29:44 AM PDT by Invisigoth

As Hillary Clinton came under increasing scrutiny for her story about facing sniper fire in Bosnia, one question that arose was whether she has engaged in a pattern of lying.

The now-retired general counsel and chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee, who supervised Hillary when she worked on the Watergate investigation, says Hillary’s history of lies and unethical behavior goes back farther – and goes much deeper – than anyone realizes.

Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy’s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.

Obama, or one of his backers, appears to have learned the clintonian style of politics well.

Hmmm...this might make a good campaign ad in July for the Obama team, as the super delegates have to commit. I predict an entertaining summer.

Where was this guy in 1992? He knew this since 1974 and only now reveals it? These Democrats prove once again it's not country but the party prevailing we would have never heard this story if this guy wasn't for Husein.

hillary didn’t run for anything in 1992. But she is a US Senator, and has been since 2000. It is proper to ask why such important information was not disclosed in 2000. As you say, it’s curious as to where this gentleman’s allegiance lies - apparently to party over country.

“Hillary then removed all the Douglas files to the offices where she was located, which at that time was secured and inaccessible to the public,” Zeifman said. Hillary then proceeded to write a legal brief arguing there was no precedent for the right to representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding – as if the Douglas case had never occurred.

It's so, so, HILLARY!

THE WATERGATE INVESTIGATION

PROGRESSIVE REVIEW 1999 - Jerry Zeifman was the Democrats’ general counsel chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee during the Watergate investigation. In an article for the Wall Street Journal he reviews HRC’s performance as a staff member:

— She violated House and committee rules by disclosing confidential information to unauthorized persons.

— A number of the legal procedures she recommended were ethically flawed

— In one written legal memorandum, she advocated denying President Nixon representation by counsel.

— She proposed that the committee should neither 1) hold any hearings with or take the depositions of any live witnesses, nor 2) conduct any original investigation of Watergate, bribery, tax evasion, or any other possible impeachable offense of President Nixon. Instead, the committee should rely on prior investigations conducted by other committees and agencies.

— She advocated that the official rules of the House be amended to deny members of the committee the right to question witnesses.

— Zeifman decided that he could not recommend her for any position of public or private trust

Zeifman talked about this in a book he wrote some years ago about Watergate and other crimes, and he had a column attacking Hillary in The Wall Street Journal before one of the elections (maybe 2000). So it's not new, but definitely worth repeating.

“Zeifman says he was urged by top committee members to keep a diary of everything that was happening. He did so, and still has the diary if anyone wants to check the veracity of his story. Certainly, he could not have known in 1974 that diary entries about a young lawyer named Hillary Rodman would be of interest to anyone 34 years later.”

Be careful with that diary.

This needs to be shouted from the rooftops. Makes the Tuzla incident seem like small potatoes. Hope Rush picks it up and hopefully other radio hosts. It seems that once something about the Beast gets out there now it gets much more play than it would have in the past.

"... The brief was so fraudulent and ridiculous, Zeifman believes Hillary would have been disbarred if she had submitted it to a judge...."

Clearly Hillary is no judicial scholar and even failed to pass the Washington DC bar exam. Hillary is driven by blind ambition and has nothing but contempt for those she sees as inferiors. As President she would have no compunction about twisting the law to her own ends.

There ought to be plenty of hard evidence publicly available if this is true: where are the written records from the committee, especially the fraudulent brief?

Sorry to be so sceptical but in politics, charges of lying are very often lies themselves.

Hillary wrote a fraudulent legal brief, and confiscated public documents to hide her deception.

Hildabeast's pattern of dishonesty is pervasive ... nothing new here. It's interesting how this pattern migrates to others they have dealings with ... i.e., Sandy (stuff the documents in your pants) Berger. The hundreds of FBI files that made there way over to the Clinton WH.

You are right. This piece says a great deal more about the ethics and morals of Democratic leadership than it does about Hillary.

It's obvious from the story that at the very least, multiple people of authority had to know about this. Behavior such as this does not remain a secret. That means more people than Zeifman have remained mum through both of her Senate runs.

Fear of the Clintons since the 90s could well have been sufficient to silence this one individual. But too many people had to be aware of this to stay silent for that reason alone. All of the Democrats (and press) that have protected and supported this woman for so long are disgusting, immoral whores.

Sorry to be so sceptical but in politics, charges of lying are very often lies themselves.

Very reasonable statements. And correct. But we should consider the fact that the Clintons have been very successful in shredding paper trails over the decades. And intimidating others into burying evidence.

I think that quoting the chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee verbatim here lends a lot of credibility.

On the other hand, it's too bad the column doesn't give the name of the interviewer to whom these quotes were originally given. One has to wonder why the interviewer did not ask the extremely obvious question: Why did he remain silent on this very serious matter for decades?

This is a tennis match. Absent the racial rantings of course of the Williams sisters father, the hussein campaign proxies of george soros are beginning their attack on hillary. She refuses to get out of the "race" and leave the nomination to the black American separatist hussein.

So they serve an ace with this volley. Look for the Clinton staffed war room of carvelle and begalla to return serve. Who needs Wimbledon?
