I HATE TO HEAR THIS! Our youngest son is going to college in Irvine Ca, not far from these places where the shootings were. He LOVES to drive up 101. Now I have one more thing to worry about! I can’t wait till he is home for summer in Texas. We have about ZERO crime in Lake Jackson Texas. Don’t pull a gun on a Texan. MOST of us are carrying heat.

I feel sorry for you - and him. I spent my latter teen years around there, and when I was there, the Vietnamese gangs were infesting the area fairly heavily.

This was about 75 miles away from Irvine. The truth is these shooting occur occasionally and have been all around the LA are, but not too often in Orange Co, where Irvine is located.

I wouldn’t worry about him driving up the 101 in particular. These shootings happen on pretty much every freeway in So. Cal.
