Just what a Momma bird with her lad spreading his wings and leaving the nests wants too hear.

Hopefully buffyts son is not Asian so he won’t be mistaken as a local banger.

One would hope so, but it doesn’t matter with the Viet gangs... they’ll as soon gang up on anyone of any color.

The good news is that usually the Viet gangs actually have shooting skills, so they usually hit what they’re shooting at. And usually if you give them a wide berth, they’ll leave you alone.

Just don’t wander into any strange noodle shops or Viet restaurants there...

Hmmm with all the Gangs claiming territory to Street name/location makes me wonder if there is a Martin Luther King(s) Blvd. Gang

There used to be, but it got eaten or exterminated by one or the other rival gangs a long time ago - if you’re talking about LA and IIRC. Think they were the ML Kings or something like that.

And (I think it is Northern Cali) the Asian women shopping alone at Costco have been targets for purse snatching lately.

The creeps/lowlifes have been told Elder Asian women/Costco shopping equals purse full of cash.

No need to avoid noodle shops. Just follow a simple rule of thumb: if you can’t see in the front windows because they’re darkened or mirrored, order your noodles take-out... :)

Investigators do not think the cases were related to three other shootings, two that were fatal, in the past several weeks on Southern California freeways.

Yeah, no similarities or anything like that.

Last time someone tried that in Dallas, the driver shot back with his own gun. Makes shooters think twice.

My son is 24 and yes he does drive up the 101, and all L A freeways, that is why I mentioned it. He called me the other day from the 101 and asked me which way to Pepperdine University in Malibu area. He was just out for a drive. He takes dates out on the 101. He loves Laguna Beach area too. During spring break he stayed out there and drove all over LA, they went to TV show tapings, like Deal or No Deal.

Yes, Irvine seems pretty safe. We just moved back to Texas from Los Angeles last year and he stayed out there to go to Concordia Lutheran U. We have lived in LA 4 times so far. We lived in San Marino, Pasadena, Claremont, Rancho Cucamonga and now he is in Irvine. But I worry no matter what because he is our youngest, our baby! Moms are like that.

I know where we were last time (Rancho Cucamonga) it was best to stay out of Riverside and San Bernardino. And when we lived in San Marino it was best to stay out of East L A although when we lived in Claremont, that was east of L A and it is a beautiful sleepy little college town, just lovely so green and gorgeous! So green and relaxing, still looks like small town USA.

But, yes, Mike is out on the 101 and ALL Los Angeles freeways ALL the time. Our church is in Arcadia and he went there from Irvine for Easter services in Wilderness Park. Then he drove over to San Marino to show friends our old house on Oak Knoll. Then they spent the day in Pasadena, he called me and asked me that day “Where is Avanti Pizza?” and “what is there to do all day in Pasadena” He wanted suggestions.

He called me last semester and said “I am on the 10, I just passed WHITE Avenue, am I close to Claremont?”

Good thing for him I know L A like the back of my hand. Too bad he doesn’t carry a map or check his route before he leaves home. I am getting him a Tom TOm GPS for his birthday.

We live in Houston, well, south of Houston, so we are still in a large city. But L A is like 12 Houstons. The traffic here is so much LESS than in L A. Because we always add new lanes and roads and highways all the time here. The only drawback, constant construction. Houston is a boom town and it is growing like CRAZY, as other states and cities shrink.

Houston, Dallas, & Austin were all on the list of top ten cities that are growing fastest in population in USA> And we don’t need more people. LOL We have too many already!

Someone called talk radio earlier this month, or last month. He said some thugs pulled up behind his car. One got out and walked over to his car. The man just sat there and pointed his gun at the thug when he got to his window. He turned around, walked back to his car, and they left! I LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS. You should always assume that Texans are packing heat... so many are.

We lived in San Marino in 1988-1990 and we would hear about thugs following rich women (in nice cars) home and they would follow them all the way down the driveway, Many of us had LONG secluded driveways, and rob them. Our neighbors who had plenty of money, she was a doctor and he was a lawyer, drove old Klunkers. I think so that they wouldn’t be followed or robbed.

He is red haired looks Irish. Big 6ft tall, 220 pounds, body builder. One time an idiot was smarting off to him, I don’t remember where we were, up by Dallas. The other guy was having some road rage and honking at us and following us closely and wildly. We ended up at a red light together and Mike said “come on, let’s do it” The other guy was a little skinny short man and he kept smiling and saying “No, No, No”

Near the 101 and 405, that is VERY close to where my son is! And he heads out that way ALL the time.

If I recall correctly, that driver did pretty good and scored a few hits on both the hostile vehicle and the hostile driver.

We have about ZERO crime in Lake Jackson Texas. Don’t pull a gun on a Texan. MOST of us are carrying heat.

Amazing how that works.
